OnePlus 10 Pro won't be getting periscope telephoto lens

Yeah, OP is really missing the boat on telephoto cameras. I have a 7T and have no interest in upgrading to a newer OnePlus with their current camera situation. If I have to upgrade due to phone crash, etc the Pixel is more compelling to me at this time.

I for one prefer my phone to have great main and wide cameras + a macro. So I’d rather see manufacturers concentrate on these. No need for super-tele, it would not be good enough for things tele is mostly used (action, wildlife). But I admit to holding this opinion mostly because I often carry a proper camera with a long lens with me.

The rumor maybe wrong or 2023 for the next usage of telephoto , because oppo does have the moving optical zoom lens module in development that can do 7x optical see the gsmarena news for that

I remember that during OnePlus 9 keynote, they mentioned that the "next gen" camera will be a collab with Hasselblad rather than software tuning.

While a flagship without the top tech (such as periscope, allowing for greater magnification) is quite stupid, I mean, at least they put a Telephoto, how many phones still lack one nowadays?

The microphone was hidden under it. There was a slot for the sound to come through but the mic was the worst I've had in any phone for calls which I assume was because of the design. Probably wouldn't make a huge lot of difference for those that don't make a lot of calls. Apart from that it was a good phone.

oh boy everyone on america should actually be calling androids overpriced as hell now, its not just apple, its all the other brands too!
plus their partnership with hasselblad would not improve the image quality overall if they keep sticking to those 12mp outputting sensors.

That's okay. But first you introduce better selfie camera. Since 3-4yrs they're on that mediocre 16mp sony imx471 cam. It really doesn't justify it's high price tag.. try to improve battery life too nd think about your software future.

Just have a top teir set of cameras tuned by Hasselblad and that will make up for the lack of periscope zoom camera

It's also great for seeing things that aren't visible with naked eye at a far away distance of 20x zoom and above.
OnePlus can't survive the flagship market with weak 3x telephoto. Maybe they want to keep the phone lighter and thinner. I don't know what their strategy is... But I won't be considering the OnePlus 10 Pro next year if they skip periscope lens.
