It has been the same for many years. We need better quality in details of video rather than quantity. Even though my phone can record 4k . I use it less than HD or FHD.

Large sensors and optics could fit in slightly thicker phones. But even if people became accepting of that we still wouldn't get it because companies make to much profit off rehashing smaller sensors.

        Awesome.
But we are already bottlenecked by the physics of small optics in mobile phones. I would really love to see something like this in a Sony rx100ish body.

GSM Boy, 01 Dec 2021True, but just in case you will need it in the future, its ... more📷🎥 already do 8K and they do not use mobile chips.

              People forget some stuff:

              - 8K from phones is not even on pair with 1080p of 🎥.
              - to deal with 8K files, the 💻 needs extremely powerful hardware, which 99% of the models do not cover.
              - phones cannot output more than 4K out of usb to hdmi, wifi needs too much spped to deal with 8K when phone paired with tv.

Brands should focus on better bitrates for 4K like 150-200Mbps, not 40-50.
              And no limits to record.

I guess that this tech would not be only for mobile phones, but for other recording devices that you need an 8k output as well.

[deleted post]Like Apple cares. They are too busy laughing at the fact 13, 13 pro max and 13 pro will be most popular phones on Earth in the next 9 months.

Very idiotic all that, knowing that 99% of people see what they record on their sub 7 inch phone screen

Leica is involved as well? Cool.

You can put 4 times alien planets inside. But we will still see same old 108mp cameras in phones with maybe 5-10% yearly improvement.

Now people just need computer powerful enough to edit the videos.
Something few times stronger than current i9.
