Not all of us are using Windows 7 or even Windows 8, some are still using Windows XP and are happy with it!

From what i know mac is more malware-proof than windows because it does not share vulnerable system resources, but there were mass-infections for mac (like Flashback, 600,000 computers infected), for iOS (Find and Call), Android (Loozfon, FinFisher), and the more popular each platform gets the more malware will be made for it.

Let's think of it this way so we don't have this kind of crap lining 18 pages of comments-
-If you are a power user, who knows his or her's way around a phone, like to be able to root and modify or be able to customize a phone to his or her's own preference BEYOND wallpaper, go with Android.
-If you like to be able to call, text, and web browse with ease, with no confusion in settings, and want an iPod in your phone, go with Apple.
I'm not saying one is better or worse than the other, they're just different. The "market share", which is what the article is about (if anyone actually paid attention to that) just means that CURRENTLY there is a larger population of people who are "android" users over "Apple" users.
Both descriptions are defining features of each- depending on what phone you get, you can essentially consider undisclosed features to be nearly the same across an iPhone and a similar Android- camera quality, connectivity options, speeds, etc. One may be better than the other in one case, but not in others. It's an undeniable fact- the iPhone does have its flaws, so do all the Android phones.
Don't go off on a tangent complaining about how "iPhones are too expensive" and "Androids are laggy with screen scrolling". We have all heard it before, thank you, and as above, that will always be the case, just regarding other flaws.
tl;dr shut your traps and co-exist. It's not that hard to say, "Well, I like android, but I respect your decision to like Apple". Market share is market share and it merely represents what the general populace prefers- it has varied greatly and will vary greatly.
Also read the instructions- it says type in English and the last time I checked "u" and "cuz" are not in the English vocabulary.

They're not x86 based, they're (at the base code) UNIX operating systems, which is the base of Apple's iOS and OSX. It's why there are no viruses for Mac,a nd why viruses can't infect any phones of any sort.
I can't believe how many people pay for "phone anti-virus" in the Google Play store. It's ridiculous.

this guy is lost. he doesn't know that most apps are avai... morewell I got 64gb iPhone 4s, So it doesn't harm me to have 390 or more apps and I know how to create folders, manage and find all my apps. That's why I don't have any problem in having all of them in my phone. And to let other guyz know I haven't deleted anything to keep all my apps. I have 4000 pics(in which 1500 in cloud) and 800 audio songs and 75 1080p videos :p
And still my phone is not slow at all because its iPhone not some shitty android which gets viruses after every one month or less.

Max storage (at the moment) 64Gb MicroSD + internal memory. So let's say 128Gb combined storage - the unusable space from operating system and manufacterer non removeable apps.
If the requirement is laziness and the need to store all media on the handset then it sounds like a phone with MULTIPLE microsd cards is the route to go down.
The alternative is good file management. Transfer to your phone what you want when you need it.
I have Terabytes of Media it doesn't mean it all needs to live on my phone.

AnonD-85787, 15 Dec 2012Kindly don't talk about price here, because literally iPhon... morewell dude let me ask you something ....can you have more than 390 apps?......i am guessing that you must have deleted all the movies from your phone just to make space for your apps......or are you telling that you have downloaded a total of 390 apps on your phone...well i wouldn't mind informing you that if you can jailbreak ios then we can root android too....and your jailbroken ios can give you only as much or perhaps lesser freedom as our "UNROOTED" android phones........and you really made me laugh when u said that there are more free apps in ios app market than in android........only 40%of apples app market is free where as more than 65$% of androids app market is free and they have almost the same number of total apps now(about 700000). more over apple charges 99$ for allowing your app in its market where as android (google) charges 25$ ....so i guess that soon google will have more apps in androiud than apple in ios. please be well informed about what you are talking over here rather than just blabbing it all out.

Anonymous, 14 Dec 2012Yes android has a massive market share... but how many bran... moreyou ultimately do have to put plastic covers on the phone to protect them from scratches.... i dont think that brushed or alloyed alluminium is scracth proof(i am not saying that plastic is}..but ,in my the opinion ,a scratch on a metal casing looks much worse than on plastic.....moreover you cant swap covers as easily in case of metallic cases.....i dont know much about the htc one x's material but i am satisfied with the plastic cover on my galaxy s2.....its been used for nearly one and a half years but it looks as good as new.

Android isn't all that great. I'm having all sorts of random crashes on my gingerbread... As an Android user of nearly 2 years I'm not all that crazy about it really...

i just want to say that i work in a mobile shop, and believe me, most income is from repairing iphones hardware alone,funny right,coz ppl praise iphone hardware quality too much, common probs like power button,charging,volume button,volume rocker,home button among the few,hardly s3's(or android) come even though a lot of ppl own them. now for the software, apparantly apps made for iphone reaches all its devices, while apps for android maynot work on all brands if not developed properly,so it is a challenge,only taken up by the expert developers,as a result it suffers from qty of apps compared to apple store,but this can be assured that its bout to change as eventually developers will realise if apps made properly with suitable codings and compatibility with all hardware and all screen resolution, 80% of smart phone can be reached compared to 15%, benifitting them commercially,as well as gaining more expertise. i agree that some iphone apps appears 2 years later on playstore, but it will reverse soon, as for os smoothness, it is unfair calculation as 4-5 versions of android is always compared to the latest apple os atleast among the common users. i see that in future, the ratio comparison will be like that of today's computer os i.e windows vs apple mac. like mr schmidt said, he is wise in his prediction.

I've been drooled for 2 months since the Note II been released to the market and my craving got worsed when I read the review on GSMA. The mobile stores in my hometown don't even have a working sample to try, and that's sucks!
When I visited Singapore last week, there was a chance for me to satisfy my hunger of curiousity for 2 months.
But I kinda dissapointed when I've put Note 2 hands on and tried it about 30 minutes at 3 different stores (2 carrier stores and 1 Samsung stores). I also compared other Android phones like S3 (borrowed from my cousin), XPERIA TX, and HTC One X beforehand.
The result is not as what I expected for Note 2. It still feel heavy for the menu transitions and scrolling not that smooth as people are talking about. Screen rotation has delay for about 1 - 2 seconds, tried on 3 different Note II devices at 3 diferrent stores. And Samsung's screeen also making it worse, it's way too oversaturated. I looked at the app's icons like WhatsApp the color is very green and KakaoTalk is so yellow, and I also looked at the sample pictures on Note II which there is a man wearing a red shirt, guess what... the red color on the shirt is glowing because the oversaturated color on Samsung's screen. I still prefer XPERIA's and HTC's screen colors, they are more natural. But what I like about Samsung is their software on their Android phones. I like the shortcuts like switching data, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc you name it on notification screen, looks more complete to me for shortcut settings compared other Android phones I tried before like XPERIA and HTC. And I decided not to buy Note II, it's quite dissapointing for making that decision just so you know, as Note II still not meets my expectation. Maybe the euphoria and excitement of Note II by people are just way too over.
But compare to SGS3, Note II significantly and prolly the fastest Android phone currently available on the market. My cousin previously used iPhone 4 and I insist him to answer honestly, and he said he still likes iPhone 4 rather than SGS3. He also added, after taking pictures on his SGS3 and when view the results on it's screen the pictures look very nice, but when he copies 'em, he gets dissapointed by the results as the the pictures not as nice as when view 'em on the phone's screen. He feels cheated by the pictures results on the Samsung's screen, just FYI he has a photography hobby. He willing to pay some bucks just to enter some places he thinks nice for photograph and taking DSLR with him to take some pictures alone, so do I.
I'm currently using iPhone 4S, it's my first iPhone. After using my cousin's SGS3 on Jelly Bean for an hour to get know and explore Android OS, and when I back to my iPhone 4S, it just felt so light when it comes to menu scrolling and transtition. It's so significant as it was sudden changed with about 5 - 10 minutes gap. Maybe I'll wait for next year and see how the next generation iPhone as well as Note series (3rd generation) go with their new OS versions, then I'll decide again which phone meets my needs.
Recently I attracted by HTC Butterfly, but when I see the battery capacity I still prefer Note 2 if I have to choose between those two. Eventhough it has full HD resolution and 441 ppi, still not making Note II's screen so bad to look at (except the overstaurated color which I find not suits for me) while in the other hand it's got 1100mAh more with just 0.5 inch screen size bigger which may cause portability issue in some situations.
I did laugh at the first time when I saw the HTC Butterfly's battery is only 2020mAh with that kind of specs, and I think it must be worse than Nexus in terms of battery life. But the battery test result on GSMA is only 2 hours ealier to be out of juice compare to iPhone 5 and I'm quite impressed with HTC for what they've done for optimizing the OS to get long battery life in one fully charged. But still 20 hours earlier than Note 2.
I'm not a fanboy of any brands, I'm the one who gave money to those companies by buying their products, it's not the other way around. So I just want to spend my money to something that I think the best for me.
