If it beats Apple CPU in terms of numbers on benchmark score and on paper and also on a long term ise where typical Apple CPU will throttle after few minutes to one hour on heavy gaming we can say price is great.

But this does not mean that if phones like OP10 Pro, Sony 5 iv, Vivo X80 Pro+, Xiaomi 12 would be cheaper than they will if powered by D9000 instead of Snapdragon.

Do not have illusion that the BoM of any of these phone would change $100-150 if they just trade the SoC and this "discount" would be given to you.

But still cheaper than the closest comparable Snapdragon, and still better performance per value.

This is the thing when comparing American stuff to stuff made anywhere else in the world: the American alternative is good or mediocore, but always claimed to be the best, and always over-priced, while the better alternatives, typically made in asian countries, are just as good or better, and always available at a fair price.

voi, 27 Nov 2021MediaTek its a security mess https://www.theregister.co... moreAll Androids are security mess because they don't get security updates for much of time. Large majority of users still have Android phones running Marshmallow or Nougat and haven't received a single security update since. Hell, at this point even probably most popular Android 9.0 Pie is already horribly outdated at this point. It will not get better until Google forces vendors to not be so cheap and lazy and offer 3 as standard or even better would be 5 as standard, even if only security updates. And forced to do it properly monthly, not just skip them.
