We had Dimensity 1000. Why not go with 2000 and use versions within it to signify models? Like Dimensity 2900 for "top tier" and Dimensity 2300 for low tier. And Dimensity 2500 for mid range. And when Dimensity 3000 series are released, they'd use Dimensity 3900, 3700, 3500, 3300 depending on model. Instead, they are doing it like Qualcomm, using model in first place and series in last.

On one day people here want mediatek to break Qualcomm.
On the next day same people complain they cant install unofficial roms on phones with mediatek.

Hey from IRAN , just want to say when we get somthing that powerful so we don't need to get more performance ? Why not go straight for 0.1 nanometers chipsets ? Just because companies make people their slaves and by the way 5G and new world order when it goes live ? We waited too long ! Please faster .

I expect 5000 series to be midrange and 3000 to be entry level / lower midrange. 2000 is basically the lower end Pentonic series for TVs.

The only way people would actually prefer to go and buy a MediaTek CPU smartphone instead of a SnapDragon version would be if the next SD will act exactly like the old SD810 which was a disaster for every brand that used it (overheating issues) except for Samsung which had it's Exynos.
Frankly, I'm not a MediaTek fan or user. Those usually go on the cheap brands that dominate china.

You're not in their white list, you're not allowed to play in highest settings, nothing to do with performances or with optimisation.
Devices based on Mediatek's aren't always in these white liste.
Galaxy S21 is always in white list for exemple...
Some other games allow you to play in the settings you want. That's the case of Genshin Impact
Anyone who played Genshin Impact on both Exynos 2100 and Dimensity 1200 in highest settings know that it works better on Dimensity 1200...very funny to see Exynos 2100's Mali G78mp14 throttles and provide worst performances than 1200's G77mp9!!! Optimisation you said?
In 2022, we will see if the new Snapdragon with its Samsung's 4nm process is able to sustain performances...not sure! TSMC's 4nm is probably better!
Maybe this 8 gen1 gets 3% better score in Antutu but...if it losts 50% of these performances in 10 minutes?

And the 9000 is definitely twice or more powerful than the dimensity 1200...
Of course the price will increase what do you expect
Even so I bet it will be cheaper than the snap 8 gen 1

Just call it A500, A600, A700, A800; then next generation B500, B600, B700, B800, etc.
Double the price... better to have a cooler and cheaper SoC. Performance it's already high enough with a Mediatek 900, and Mediatek 700 is perfectly usable for low end.
