Anonymous, 27 Nov 2021Feel free to scroll down until you find. https://m.weibo.... moreRight now I don't have time to keep scrolling on weibo all the way down to the part before Aquos R6 was announced, but at least I appreciate that you put up the link there. I'll try looking up on it when I have time.
"Funny the snail photo where the narrower FOV is more evident you leave out of the chat"
In case you didn't realise, every single scene but the snail one shows OP9P captures a wider field of view, not just the one I linked to in my previous image.. but I guess you're conveniently ignoring them too.
"If it was Apple, Samsung, Asus or Motorola advertising it you would be saying it was scam"
I wouldn't. I hold no hatred against any brands. When did I ever post comments hating on those manufacturers or accusing them for lying in the first place?
"Vivo has same suppliers of the sisters"
Source? And even if they had the same suppliers, that does not necessarily mean that they purchase exactly the same types of components from them.
"Still curious to know why there is no 8mm if they can offer zero distortion"
Because it's harder to correct such distortion even with more efficient correction method??? It's simple physics.
Nobody claimed there's "zero" distortion, it drastically reduces distortion but won't completely eliminate them. For instance, OnePlus' claim is 1% distortion using free form lens design.
"By the way, Huawei did not advertise distortion free for P50 Pro."
P50 Pro's UWA sensor is only at 1/3 inch diagonal. Mate 40 Pro, OnePlus 9 Pro and Find X3 Pro all use 1/1.5 inch sensors. Distortion is easier to correct on a smaller sensor, and since the image quality from such a minuscule sensor wouldn't be that good in the first place, I bet Huawei couldn't be bothered to spend extra for better lens design.

And I also expect more from the software:
a software shutter button, DRO levels and something like Nikon's Active D Lighting. A mode like Nikon's Active D Lighting is basically a high dynamic range tone mapping mode without image stacking and can also be used with manual exposure settings as far as I know. And it also lets you save raw files.

Anonymous, 27 Nov 2021USA, UK, Spain, France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Ital... moreMost of the the counties you mentioned are in Europe. Yet I have never seen someone using a Sony smartphone in my country or in rest of Europe.
The stats back me up as well. Sony's presence in the market is so low that their numbers are clubbed in the "other category" according to the latest shipment data in Europe.

The cameras would be more interesting with better hardware, for example:
-23/24mm with 24 megapixels, 98mm² sensor + f/1.95 OIS lens, similar to Xiaomi 11 Ultra
-50mm with 24 megapixels, 18mm² sensor + f/1.6 OIS lens, similar to Vivo X70 Pro Plus
or alternatively an additional 23/24mm camera with 98mm² Bayer sensor + f/1.95 OIS lens, but with approximately 110 megapixels for lossless zoom
-103mm with 24 megapixels, 31mm² sensor + f/3.5 OIS lens, similar to Google Pixel 6 Pro
-250mm with approximately 15-19 megapixels, 12mm² sensor + f/4.4 OIS lens with effective diameter of 6.5mm, similar to Huawei Mate 40 Pro Plus
-23/24mm low light camera with a resolution between 6-12 megapixels, either 72mm² sensor + f/1.57 OIS lens (similar to Vivo X70 Pro Plus) or again 98mm² + f/1.95 OIS lens

Anonymous, 27 Nov 2021You think it is just 750.000? LOL
That was an example, the numbers are certainly way lower than other manufacturers.
You do realize that Sony has less than 0.1% marketshare right??

Vivo has same suppliers of the sisters.
Chinese lems makers also suppliers Apple and Samsung.
Still curious to know why there is no 8mm if they can offer zero distortion.
Simple trick, apply software correction and do not offer option to turn it off like other.
By the way, Huawei did not advertise distortion free for P50 Pro. What a coincidence.
Gonna say a chinese company is not allowed to sell to Huawei? LOL ....

OnePlus 9 Pro is capturing a wider field of view. Now you can finally admit your lie, shut up and tuck away your awful sinophobia disguised as a brand hatred. *You* never caught me for anything. It's simply that when *I* catch you hallucinating, you simply run away as soon as you realised that you are lacking evidence that supports your mere wishful thinking. Just like you did when the other anonymous user (gBV) and I were talking about how smartphone lenses could be very sharp because of all sorts of reasons but you called them "crap".
"someone from China posted screen shot of those hardware info apps that show imx506"
That's exactly what I wanted to see, bring it on, show me that screenshot. I'm always ready to admit that I've been wrong about something, as long as one can supply me with evidence (which you should've in the first place).
"Have you seen Vivo advertise this?"
No, Vivo's sensor + optic choices have been distinctly different from those of OnePlus and Oppo, when it comes to high-end phones. Samples show that Vivo's non-free-form UWA lens is considerably rougher on edges and shows more chromatic aberration.
