Anonymous, 29 Nov 2021It will come with useless 8gb ram Even the S205G had 12g... moreMy current phone runs fine with 4GB RAM - though since Samsung tend to bloat their ROMs I'm less sanguine about ROM on a Samsung than many Android brands.

But I don't understand the "Android with 8GB RAM" comment, given that iOS devices have less. Seems strange, unless what you wrote was not what you meant.

Dudenoway, 29 Nov 2021Agree and it's really sad too see this. Luckily only S... moreThen people will probably just start buying iPhones. Comparing software, Apple gives their phones much longer software support and is more stable than Android in my experience. I have used Android and IOS and while I like Android more, IOS is just faster. Their chipsets are faster. If manufactures think they can just remove features just because Apple doesn't have them will just make people (like me) lose interest in them (like Samsung) as IOS doesn't make me have to plug my device into my computer and use ADB to debloat it and remove permissions for tons of bloatware (If I'm even able to) instead of just having IOS be lightweight out of the box with a couple settings to change. It's kind of like buying a new laptop or a prebuilt Windows machine and the bloatware starts screaming in your ears and melts your processor, takes up memory and uploads tons of telemetry data even though you opt-out during setup. IOS is like installing a fresh ISO image. You don't have pre-installed garbage (Besides ONLY Apple's apps) that you can't even remove on IOS. I mean, is Facebook needed on my Samsung? I can disable it but can't uninstall it.

At this point I would just buy older Galaxy phones that have expandable storage and headphone jack and enjoy it.

Sony Xperia would also be a nice choice if they keep the current features on their phones like expandable storage and the headphone jack in the future. I am hoping they release a mid ranger that is good value (Less than $500)

Narazumono, 29 Nov 2021Not a fan of them reducing the screen size. Here's hop... moreI think you are alone here, because if they were all the same big 6.5inch slabs (like the A series) then what is even the reason to have multiple devices. The 6.2 Inch (I think) from S21 were already rather big and that was supposed to be the more compact offering

          AnonF-1013367, 29 Nov 2021how is 1/3.94" better then 1/3.30" on the s21?It is not. Samsung is trading a 14mm2 sensor for a 8mm2 sensor.
This to make cam bump bit thinner.

i0S.- Never.- Again, 29 Nov 2021The S22 ultra will essentially have the same setup as last ... moreSamsung will not drop the 108MP because their heavy bet on digital zoom.

You can do some tweaks on sensor (circuits level) to extract bit more DR in exchange of higher performance at higher ISO. Sometimes 📷 makers do it, because they often use same cmos for more than 1 generation.
Also, newer processor with newer ISP can help too.

New sensor of same specs every year (like s7 to S10) does not bring more than 1-3% improvement. No need to keep changing unless they want different size or resolution.

I just hope one of the next Samsung Galaxy S22 phone series will have an insertable stylus pen. I heavily miss Galaxy Note 5 capabilities in my current OnePlus 7 Pro and want to go back to a note with a high screen refresh rate.

s21's 3x hybrid zoom was on par with s21ultra's optical zoom(not periscope). however,s22's optical will have lesser specs than s21ultra's optical. so,it will be also worse than s21 on paper. sw processing may be more powerful than s21 but, they should have brought a better hw than s21 series overall.

The S22 ultra will essentially have the same setup as last year. Nothing much to see...

                      The hm3 improvements?? Like what??
I wonder why Samsung ditched the variable aperture? It's actually useful on bigger sensors.

Either ways, The hm3 looks to be still behind the GN1/Gn2 series.

Yuri84, 29 Nov 2021I'd love to have telephoto with a flat screen, but won... moreSame here. They honestly need to bring the headphone Jack and Micro SD card slot back if they want to compete with Apple. Compared to just software, IOS is smoother than Android and Apple has their own processors they used for a decade and Samsung here is giving either Snapdragon or Exynos on Android where developers making games likely optimize for Snapdragon and you have phones with many many different configurations where Apple has very few in comparison so software and games made for IOS is optimized for most devices

This is coming from an Android user. IOS is just a more stable and optimized operating system and their iPhones have just as many removed features like headphone Jack and expandable storage as a Samsung.

So would you buy a Samsung that has a more buggy user interface and software updates that take forever across all phones with more bloatware and analytics or would you buy an iPhone which gets support for software updates much longer.

Im sick and tired of Samsung taking features away and thinking that its the coolest new design. They take away the removable battery (Galaxy S5 still had water resistance), headphone Jack (now likely gone from the next A series lineup), expandable storage, IR scanner, HR sensor, proper cornered flat displays, physical home button and touch navigation buttons, 1440p, and call it better. Guess what? Its not better, and having an underscreen camera isnt the best for privacy. I still don't trust it even when I have most bloatware disabled.

Oooo new Galaxy S22 or newer with this 100MP sensor that will fill the internal storage instantly and then we would have the micro SD card- wait, we don't. How about a faster processor you have to play Exynos and Snapdragon lottery with? The Exynos would have this cool new AMD GPU that might be even worse than Mali since literally all apps on Google Play won't know about and then be unoptimized. How about graphics driver updates? On my A51, I havent got once since Sep 2020 and the last update I got was in Aug 2021. Still no GPU driver update and Apple can update their own proprietary GPU drivers with ease. That new processor will likely get obliterated by Apple's new chips and/or run much cooler at sustained performance and little thermal throttling.

If Samsung removed the headphone Jack and expandable storage from the A series then i'm done with Samsung. Dont even get me started with the ads on their TV's
