Anonymous, 06 Dec 2021SD 675 SD 678 now..... SD 680IMHO the 678 is better than 680, and specially the 480 5G still the best in this price range

Henchen, 07 Dec 2021Come on guys, this low tier phone probably below $200. What... moreYeah the Realme8i in the same price using latest architecture of CortexA76 and MaliG57..
This Kryo265(A73) and Adreno610 like back in 2018..
You better also see how Outclassed is the Realme 7i on its price range

This is literally the Snapdragon665 rebranded in 6nm....
Its 2022 and the Snapdragon680 is using Outdated Kryo265(CortexA73) and CortexA53,also an outdated Entry level Gpu "Adreno610"
The 6nm will be pointless with all of its Architectures are back in 2018

The HelioG96 maybe 12nm but it is using more advanced CortexA76/A55 architecture and latest MaliG57mc2 that was used also to Dimensity700..

SD680 Calculated Antutu would be 230K
Meanwhile the Earlier 8i's HelioG96 will be 300K AnTuTu..

Please just beware this Rebranded Chipset..
Its worst than how Mediatek Rebranded their Chipset with Overclocked Gpu,but meh the CortexA73 and Adreno610 wont gonna make a good fight for 2022

Adreno610 is too outdated in upcoming 2022...
I dont why Qualcomm is using the same Gpu since Snapdragon665 in 2018..
This is almost the Mediatek Equivalent of HelioP60's MaliG72mp3 and Kirin710's MaliG51mp4 in-terms of Graphic Perfomance...
The Snapdragon680 is basically Snapdragon665 Rebranded..
Beware of Realme9i...this Perfomance will be more Downgrade than Realme8i using Latest HelioG96 with more Latest Gpu

Henchen, 07 Dec 2021Come on guys, this low tier phone probably below $200. What... moreFor a start, just be better than the predecessor phone in the lineup in terms of performance (in this case Realme 8i). Is that too much to ask? Yes, it seems, according to the Realme fanboys in this forum.

I'm using a phone that has the 662, so for me it would be an upgrade in all aspects. I strip notifications, background processes, and permissions from the majority of apps. Only what is necessary for them to function. I keep Data Saver and Battery Saver on at all times. No wasted processing for as much as I can help. Compared to the 662, the 680 is 400Mhz faster, more battery efficient, and with smarter processing. So I know what I'll be getting with it and would therefore be satisfied. I don't have 5G service, so the radio frequency isn't necessary for my use and is pointless to spend extra for. Doubt I'm the only one. Qualcomm did right by this chip.

Come on guys, this low tier phone probably below $200. What do you expect from this price range?

Weird why do they still make new chips with 4G. Like isn't it time to just do only 5G
They should still have left over all these old 4G chips we still see in use. Or just take them out from the phones that end up as e-waste. It's not like they cant reuse these chips as they take them off from the motherboard and set on a new motherboard.

If realme series have a same processor and slightly upgrade like realme 6, realme 7(6²) and realme 8(6³) idk in realme 9 or realme 6⁴

Cool design. Finally a good looking Realme phone.

Ryan, 06 Dec 2021Why not 5GBecause it costs more to license 5G technologies from Qualcomm. And this is an lower mid-range phone. The issue on this phone is not to do with lack of 5G. 4G is perfectly fine for its price range. It has to do with old Kryo cores in the SD 680 SoC (it should have been named as SD 663 for clarity) and its lack of performance for even a lower mid-range phone.

There are people who are fanboys of specific brands who cannot handle even valid criticisms. Realme 9i is a very clear downgrade when compared to Realme 8i in terms of performance, which is really disappointing to see.
