Yols, 06 Dec 2021Who knows. It could be priced even lower than 8i, only time... moreI'm pretty sure they'll price it around 12k just like the redmi note 11. At that price it's basically DOA but dumb Indians without any technical knowledge would buy them anyways :-[

Tiny differences on gpu side, Adreno 512 and 610 are very similar.

So, introducing date doesnt make the processor recent one.

I misread the headline as sd 860 and was disappointed when I reread it. Competing with the Poco x3 pro would be a cool strategy.

                  120Hz to 90Hz IPS LCD. Helio G96 to SD 680. That's downgrade.

teyooot, 06 Dec 2021sd680? what is this an upgrade or a downgrade smhI like Realme, I really do, but they have a weird tendency regarding SOCs.
Basically from Realme 6 through 8, the SD720 is available in all of the "Pro" models, while the regular counterpart gets Mediatek, but a stronger SOC compared to the "Pro" models.
The "i" models seem to be the budget oriented models, so they most likely end up being battery life champions above anything else. Considering they are going for a 6nm SD680 with the 9i compared to G96 (12 nm) in the 8i, which is already a battery endurance beast, the 9i has a really good chance to trample on it. Also, I would reserve my judgement on the performance. Even if the G96 is going to be better, I still expect the 680 to be capable for a budget device.

Realme 9i is the lowest budget among the 9 series. That goes to the 8 series too. Want good SoC? Get Realme 9 or 9 PRO. But, pay extra $$$ and don't expect same price as the 9i 🤦🏻‍♂️

SD 680 in Realme 9i is a very clear downgrade from G96 in Realme 8i. It is pathetic to see Android OEMs put a downgraded SoC in the next generation of the lineup while there are plenty of upgrade SoCs available in mid-range.
