But where I feel smartwatches are better is with the LTE functionality giving it a somewhat standalone capability.
And the notification management of Wear OS devices is better than what you get with a smartband and the budget smartwatches like the ones from Amazfit. I can't go back to the basic notifications those watches give after using a Wear OS device.
Like it is with everything else, each device has it's own usecase and it's own benifits and drawbacks.
I don't use my smartwatch for their health tracking but sadly have to pay a premium for the health data tracking that comes along with the Wear OS devices.

I got a Garmin Tactix Delta. Specs are insane and it gives me 14 days of battery life when connected to smartphone.

Still hold on to my Honor Magicwatch 2. Its been two years already. Battery still strong, moderate usage with a 7 days battery life 💪

Author States that ECG monitoring is available on the watch 4 classic when not paired with Samsung phone. A quick check on Samsung's website states that it can only be used with a Samsung phone. Can we have some accuracy please??

From my experience, smartband is more about function, meanwhile smartwatch is more about convenience... If you only want basic stuff (basic activity tracking, basic notification) then smartband is the way to go... Smartwatch allow you to do more things: contactless payment, voice assistant (including controling smart home), more detailed tracking, replaying message without opening phone, etc...

- better durability
- ECG
- multi-color backlight
- compass
- physical and mental monitoring
for most user, only 1-3 features are useful... Even then, it is most likely more like a "nice to have" improvement, but not a essential or deal breaker... That is why I think it is really hard to justify the more expensive price. I just got my pro 3 during christmas season for 192€, which is 100€ cheaper than the ultra!!! Even without discount etc, pro 3 is still around 40-50€ cheaper which is quite a bargain if you don't really need the extra of the ultra.
