Some NVMe SSDs get slower with Windows 11 installed on them

08 December 2021
Sequential speeds seem okay - sometimes they even improve - but random writes and especially reads take a big hit in performance.

Now on Windows 11 and these are basically the same numbers I got with Windows 10 so I don't know what the fuzz is all about. Using Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVMe PCie 3.0.

I use my phone for almost anything, replacing my pc 90% of the time. All my digital stuff is on my 1TB SD card that I absolutely love more than any phone brand out there.
ALL brands, except for Sony, have decided to quit on the SD card slot for the high-end flagships (I'm not interested in mid-range phones), for the stpd reason of it being 'outdated'. I mean brands are telling us that it is outdated, then give us a better alternative, don't just take away that feature that many want and use, without giving something better in return.
I have no alternative and it sure looks like my next phone will be a Sony.

In fact, you can just use a regular USB-C flash drive for swapping out data from your phone. But then again, a proper flagship will transfer that data just as fast using WiFi 6. No wires, dongles, fiddling with trays, or anything else required.

Hardly surprising, since the internet became more accessible, software developers have not felt the need to do any thorough beta testing and leave that to the early adopters. It has become almost acceptable to release incomplete or even broken software because they can just patch it out later. Which why I don't pre-order or buy games on day one anymore, because you'll end up paying the most amount of money for the worst version of the software.
