Kraken, 08 Dec 2021If this is the case then why doesn't apple manufacture... moreThats why i prefer Samsung than Apple. My samsung is assembled in Indonesia, with some imported parts from Korea (AMOLED & chipset) and Japan (camera sensor).

      No Chinese parts.

-Trix-, 08 Dec 2021So happy i got my 13 pro at day one, such a amazing phone, ... moreAnother benefit of Apple being strict about pricing policies of iPhones, the prices are not infalted into ridiculousness like it's for literally everything else. They fluctuate by few € up or down, but in general they are the same. Basing this obervation on iPhone 13 (vanilla model) which are priced up to 899€ in Europe which is a normal price due to VAT and all that stuff. Mini goes up to 799€ which is also normal. It seems to be in stock at least with most major European e-tailers.

AnonD-762416, 08 Dec 2021If you're paying someone to manufacture something, you... moreLol, that's what you think. You think building, maintaining and keeping fab plants or production lines always busy is cheap? Often it's better to rent the production lines from someone else than do it entirely yourself. Years ago, this mentality was what essentially killed 3dfx. They wanted to control everything and make everything themselves. Sometimes it's a benefit, sometimes it's a burden. Saying Apple isn't top dog because they don't manufacture things themselves is a laughable claim. NVIDIA doesn't have ANY production lines yet they are a "top dog" in GPU's. AMD doesn't have any production lines yet they are very successful with CPU's in recent years. Qualcomm or even Mediatek have no poduction lines and they are the worlds largest mobile chipset makers.

Kraken, 08 Dec 2021If this is the case then why doesn't apple manufacture... moreSlowly apple is shifting it's manufacturing units out of china in India, Mexico and Vietnam. This is a very slow process and will take years.
China doesn't this and has started to retaliate by such tantrums. Also relations between China and USA are at lowest. No wonder US companies will suffer from it.

Tim Apple's Just In Time production model avoids stockpiling components and is not a robust model for handling risks. It's a good model for maximising profits but only if the supply chain is not disrupted. The orange clown who was in the White House started this mess and it's justice that his friend, Tim Apple, is bearing the brunt of it. It's a pity that Biden will only prolong this because he seems to be a puppet for whoever is pulling the strings.

well iphone 13 demand has slowed , lew made a video about that. android midrangers are just to good, and people usualy dont need all that power. for 300 euros you can get samsung a52s. even that is overkill for most of people. and this year iphones are very similar to last year.
also ipad mini is just too expensive and people pointed out the cheap panel and jelly scroll.
they are apple, trilion dollar company, if demand was there they will have chips.

Only Pro versions are good. Lower versions have low ram and ugly camera position.

If this is the case then why doesn't apple manufacture the iPhone in India where they've already made previous iPhones ?
After all, all companies should boycott China due to Government policies and shift production to India, Indonesia and Vietnam.

                                    > Nikkei explains that this week is normally when Apple’s production goes into overtime to meet global demand for the holiday shopping season, but instead of workers getting extra shifts and 24-hour production schedules, workers have been getting time off

That's good news in my book, these workers should also have time to spend the holidays with their family
