Samsung Galaxy S22 said to cost the same as its predecessor

08 December 2021
The Galaxy S21 FE is also expected to keep the price of the previous model, leaving a small price gap between it and the vanilla S22.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 with curved back. I have accidentally dropped my phone. Not only makes cracks on the glass back, but also makes a corner of the frame to be slightly bended. That makes me unable to replace the glass back without replacing the frame even then bend is too small.

After that I have told myself not to buy any phone with curve screen or glass back!

I am a Samsung fan , i use Samsung long before android existed , an had almoust all s-series from i9000 s1 to g970 s10e , g973 s10. but I don t understand how people complain about a 15$ charger and not care about a downgrade of Display resolution ( from 1440p to only 1080p) and downgrade ram (12gb vs 8gb).
I prefer more compact models and i wanted to wait for S22 because of i heard that is smaller. But if the screen will be only FHD and ram only 8gb it is no point . I would buy S20 5g is a lot better .
I don t know how it is another country but in mine S20 5g is 820 $ and S21 5g is 860 with less features so what is the point. People still buy S21 because the number is bigger and newer.

Glass is glass and it get scratch and definitely shatters, while plastic is plastic and it only get scratch. I agree for a screen, glass is better for touch sensitivity, but for the back, that is subjective.

OldVillainousHeavens, 08 Dec 2021Why get the FE when you can just get the base S22??This is exactly why samsung priced the S22 just 100 dollars more than the S21 FE. So that people think like this and buy the S22 instead of the S21 FE.

With more hardware and battery packed inside, I am okay trading off glass for plastic to keep the weight down. Most flagship phones today are not only large, but heavy as well.

I use my phone without any screen protector and it's still intact after 3 years. It's not shattered, chipped, cracked or otherwise structuraly damaged. It has tons of micro scratches tho. I don't want to even imagine how it would look like if it was plastic like they were all 15 years ago. It's literally reason why we have glass displays on ALL smartphones. Because they are infinitely more resistant to scratches. But somehow, those benefits don't apply to the rest of the phone. That somehow just shatters left and right. Well, it doesn't. Not a single phone I ever owned had cracked or shattered display. Or even back because I do like glass backs. They were all scratched from normal use. You're telling me here with straight face some plastics would fare better than literal frigging molten rock? Which is what glass is. LMAO. GSMArena full of clueless plastic lovers. Every phone without exception will eventually scratch somewhere. Only very tiny % of them get cracked glass. But you'd put plastic on all of them to prevent those rare cracks and ruin scratch resistance for everyone. Slow clap.

My Galaxy phone was on the leg when i was driving & answeing a call. I forgot about that & opened my door to alight. Maybe from 2 feet it dropped on the floor & the screen cracked. Gorilla glass is only in name it is not tough glass

You put it in there hundreds of times. Do you drop your phone hundreds of times that glass is so incredibly fragile? I just can't grasp your absolutely nonsensical logic defending use of crappy plastics. And if you feel you'll smash the glass, then put it into case. You literally have a choice of glass or plastic. If phone is already plastic, you'll put more plastic on it because plastic scratches so easily? LOL? It's like putting pants over pants because you'll piss yourself.
