That's literal most common wear phone will experience. Yet everyone always starts defending plastics for drops like you all drop phones 77 times every single day. Yet you probably do place your phone at least 77 times on table or in pocket. To further make the plastic durability for drops argument obsolete, you can put a case on glass and then have "plastics". But you can choose not to and have a really lovely feeling glass in hands. If phone is already plastic, what are you, going to put glass case on it? It works one way but doesn't the other. If you people are so clumsy, buy a CAT phone or something. Stop defending shitty cheapening on materials so they can squeeze out more margin out of already ridiculously expensive flagships. Coz this is just and only that. To make more profit from every Galaxy S. I just wonder if they got it why Galaxy S21 was one of worst selling S models. Other specs are fine, but I bet most people just don't want plastic back on such expensive phone. Yet Samsung is extending plastics further to S22+ model this year. It's ridiculous.

That's the problem with the S21 FE pricing. The gap is not big enough between it and the vanilla S21, let alone vanilla S22. More than that, in my country, a used secondhand vanilla S21 can now be obtained from as low as $500.

Not only cost but also perform the same as its predecessor I would expect. S21 style (mostly the same phone as S21).

I completely agree..Glass phone backs are not "Premium"..They are a fragile and nonsensical material for a device that could easily suffer a drop resulting in a smashed glass back cover..as I found on my lovely Galaxy Note 20 Ultra after a drop for waist height, even though it was inside a quality Nilkin leather wallet case..fortunately the Gorilla Victus phone screen was undamaged.
Give me a high quality Polycarbonate back cover any Day!

They removed QHD Resolution from S21/S21+ and now people say 1080 is more than enough for human eyes

The plastic back on S21 looks far better than ugly boring glass design of iPhone 13 series which costs 500$ to replace

Expected. Flagships are already at the top of their prices, there's no more margin for the prices to go up...because they add only little improvements from year to year: a little bit better cameras, a little bit better battery, a little bit better screen etc. So, when you only improve little bits, you can't go increasing the prices a lot.
The next jump in prices is only possible in foldables because those really add something new.
