Anonymous, 09 Dec 2021$400 for a Snapdragon 888 and 12/256 phone is a great deal.... moreEven if it is 600 globally it is a good price. It launched in the states at the right time with the right marketing....this phones will absolutely crater the sales of the S22 and the iphones.

Motorola, xiaomi etc should launch their flagships in the U.S and at the proper time along with proper marketing and advertising.

I see some test of 8gen1 on this phone, very very bad score
GPU is OK, 60% performance improved with 25% power increase.
CPU is a disaster, performance/power ratio is worse than Sd888(wtf ARM DOING!)
OK,since Motorola have a bad history of first relasing flagship chip(back to 2019 Lenovo release first sd855 phone by using engineeing example chip) and Edge X30 have nearly no heat solve design,I would wait the Mi12 and see its performance

507AMS, 09 Dec 2021bigger megapixel count does not means a better sensor....Especially when they only use 10mm of it.

Still no news about limited software support

I'd be interested to know how much of the phone is moto and how much is lenovo?
Moto can be innovative but pricy, lenovo is price savvy but often misses the mark.

zillion, 09 Dec 2021I bet the price will be a flagship price like the others. A... moreIt's not really a fully fledged flagship though. Basically a budget flagship. Starting at 2,999rmb ($470) for 8gb 128gb and the first snapdragon 8 gen 1 phone, the pricing is extremely competitive and in the upper midrange to budget flagship category. It's going to be quite a lot cheaper than the other early snapdragon 8 gen 1 phones which are about to be released

Like underdisplay camera, it should be a special feature, and the "Edge" name is perfect for this.
They should have kept the curved edge and make a parallel series with the same specs but with a flat display.

Dudenoway, 09 Dec 2021Just like realme did on realme x2 Pro in other article. Pro is NOT a "special", it is, despite the name, totally mainstream, it is just a buzzword that many brands use, but it is intended as a regular product.
Sony "Pro" label IS intended for real professional uses, other brands just call their flagship this way.
Apple, Huawei, HTC, Motorola, Lenovo, Xiaomi, Google, Honor, Oppo, Realme, OnePlus, Vivo, Meizu, Asus, ZTE, (to list all the major brands) all have smartphones with the "Pro" label that are in no way special or intended for professionals.
CAT smartphones with the "Pro" label is normal as their phones are already intended for professionals.
The Asus ROG Phone 5s Pro has nothing to do with professionals, the "Asus Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders" on the other hand does.
Blackberry phones are often regarded as "pro", or at least "business", yet non have the "Pro" label in their name.
Special phones are phones like the "OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren", or the "Xiaomi Mi 9 Explorer", those were REAL "special" edition, not random rebranding with nothing added.
Caviar is a good example of a brand that only do special variants.
One recent example would be the "OnePlus Watch Harry Potter Edition".

But the "Realme GT 2 Pro" is NOT a special, limited, or anything variant, it IS a different phone from the non Pro and as such, it does have other features than the UDC that someone may want.
A proper special edition would be a "Realme GT 2 Pro Underdisplay Edition".
I would be TOTALLY for this, as much as I am totally against a "Realme GT 2 Pro" with an UDC.

I think there is a mistake in the sensor listed here as part of the ultrawide camera. It is the samsung JN1. GM1 is not a 50MP sensor

Good specs, good pricing...only downside is the design...talking about the back, nothing appelativ.

If this specs made it to a Realme GT2/ GT3 with an amazing design at 450-500 euros, it will be the deal of the decade.

I've not seen any mention of expandable storage. It seems the industry is swinging back to a standard of "you get what we give you" but that's terrible. I want a phone where I can add at least a 512GB microSD card and keep photos/videos/backups on that card. These phones sound great, but if no expandable storage that would be disappointing.

Wow, the first to use the best chipset for Android that's also unbelievably cheap. Now that Snapdragon 888+ has become last-gen, Snapdragon 870 seems old but not when even Snapdragon 855 still is very capable.

So after few years we will finally again get fullscreen display without holes, but i don't understand why is it called edge if it does not have screen over the corner (good thing). also no qi?

Do you then there is chance for smaller hole less phone next year?
