Flashback: Poco F1, the birth of a value-for-money legend

12 December 2021
It was the cheapest phones with a Snapdragon 845 chipset and still one of the cheapest to use Qualcomm's current flagship chip.

Sort by:

Still using it for more than 2.5 years.. 6/128 steel blue, got it for less than $190 on offer.
Best phone in terms for performance even some $300 midrange phones can't beat it in terms of performance.
Some problems were there plastic body, touch delay, average speakers(but glad it had stereo). 18W seems slower as of current standard.
Good things are : High performance even after 845 is almost 4yrs old. But better than other chipset under $300. (beside sd 778)
I did throttle test it throttle little bit on miui but I'm using custom roms(tested many) right now on pixel 6 pro port (device is certified on playstore & safety net also passing) no problem with the rom.. throttle test in this rom is 98% which is unbelievable and there is an option for increasing touch sensitivity also. So beside build quality touch delay solved for gaming..
Fun fact : you can use IR face unlock camera for taking IR picture with some apps even in pitch dark. 😁😁

rizwan, 12 Dec 2021Bought in December 2018 and still working just as fine. I&#... morePoco F3 seems good enough.
You must realise that to make Poco F1 (and most importantly - the NAME) they made this phone with money losses to company. But they earned in followers and customers, me included.
And to tell you the truth, you don't really need 888 or gen 1 + chipsets. Unless you want to buy Black Shark or other game oriented phones to save 1-5 fps in games.
I am very happy with SD845 and I chuckle every time they introduce another SoC with the same specs as my own 3 years behind.

cyber, 12 Dec 2021this phone has too many flaws,so it aint worth to be called... moreThat's true for every brand that quality hasn't kept up with price. But why single out Xiaomi and Huawei? Because they're Chinese brand? What's your agenda?

Bad job, gsmarena... Way to go to represent the best phone of 2018 with lower specs that it really has.
This phone has QC3 and not announced QC4.
I do have this phone since 2019. The only thing that's lacking atm is battery.

And like ANY type of legend, it died

And if someone doesn't get it, Nexus 5 was a legend too...

GAMIRSFM, 12 Dec 2021I rememeber people comparing this phone to the Galaxy Note9... moreIt's still quite funny how people were even comparing it with the XR. Sure Poco was better for the first few years but look who's laughing when Xiaomi didn't provide any more major updates, meanwhile, the XR will prob receive another 2-3 major updates

cyber, 12 Dec 2021this phone has too many flaws,so it aint worth to be called... moreSo your just a hater of the brand without having a clue what your talking about. Your the type of yellow pages reader troll who dont know the full stories and know only the info that have gone trough dumb people telephone game that end up a fantasy of the last one who spread the lie.

Every phone brand that is old have same quality as these phones have. These are all made in same factories. Most of there hardware is mass produced by same factories and there build quality is also same like any other. All brands have there own flaws as there are not a single thing in modern day that is built to last forever and is perfect and flawless

Still quite worth it, even in 2021 if u don't mind with the slightly thick bezel and outdated display technology. Snapdragon 845 itself is still powerful enough even for heavy games and the size is perfect for one-hand use

Great phone. It took better pictures than my new F3, even with 1/4 the megapixels.
It did support 4K@60 FPS after a software update - and even the F3 can't support that today (using the built in camera app).
Also had a headphone jack, and even an RF radio for those that use it.

Mine still works perfectly. I keep it in my drawer as a backup.

                                Legendary phone.

I'm still using poco f1. You can get much more from it, by rooting and flashing custom recocery and roms. Currently running android 12 and it works like a charm.
