Those 4nm Mediatek Dimensity chips will be very interesting. They have an inferior Mali GPU, but if priced competitively some 'flagship killer' phones will have them.

I hope the S22 camera bump is transparent or glass.

      I love black on black

What a terrible picture. Black on black really shows you nothing.

not directed at Samsung, but as a high-end chip set next year, do you think they will all be relying on throttling again?

My guess is yes, and will continue to until the second version (re-fresh) of 3nm is released.

You want more premium? Pay more.

Personally, I like plastic. Lighter, more durable, more scratch resistant. And this is no longer the Galaxy S4 cheap plastic of the bad old days.

                  - 2016 vs 2020 technology
                  - Super LCD5 vs OLED at 120mhz
Of course Xperia has the advantage, even though it has a smaller resolution. Only the difference between LCD vs OLED is huge. Add on top of that the fact that it's running at 120mhz and also the fact that the HTC 10 is 4 years older.
My point is that if you put side by side the S10+ running at QHD+ vs S22+ running at FHD you will see the difference. Maybe on the smaller S22 it makes sense, but why force FHD on the bigger S22+?
I'm glad to see other people that want the SD card slot back. 🙂

If the S22 is going to be black and glossy at the back isn’t this a fingerprint magnet?

When I was choosing my previous phone, it was the 1440p or pass, so I ended up choosing the HTC 10 with the 2k display. When I moved to Xperia 5.2 later (1080p), I finally found how how useless the 2K on a 6" screen was as the screen on Xperia 5.2 just look so much better than on HTC 10, despite having much lower density. Imo the 2k display is just a gimmick that you use for two weeks after you buy the phone and then switch down to 1080p to save battery.

I wholeheartedly agree with your point about SD card slots. SD card slots, infrared port, FM radio, notification led and headphone jack are the 5 features why I will probably consider a midranger for my next phone, because I really hate how the manufacturers are taking away these 'quality of life' features from flagships.

Frankly I'm glad my s21 uses plastic rather than glass for the back. There is nothing glass is better for unless your job is in phone repairs, where a slipperier, more fragile material is your friend.

Going by what you said what about that one employee who was hired to be reading about what people think, all the different comments on this website spamming "no headphone jack=no buy" "bring back sd card slot" "put back led notification" or "put back charger in the box". They are still not going to budge. S9 and note 9 were the last phones to have led notification and iris scanners and since then it still hasn't returned. Some companies like xiaomi and Google are also removing features like sd card slot, headphone jack and removing charger from the box. Instead of listening to complaints just like you want them to they are doing the complete opposite by eventually doing the same on their upper midrange phones.
