Many countries dont earn enough to buy 300 bucks worth phone for ordinary people.
And there arent enough rich ones who will find foldables reliable.
Bar phone is still future in here its durable enough and any cover makes it feel more premium.
You cant say same to oldables and you cant put screen priotector on it like panzer glass,

But truth and reality is foldables makes no sense.
Bigger phone were proven better because especialy elderly people have problems to read on a small screen of button phones and blindesly typing and thinking or hoping it will be writen good and readable is far better to have a biger screen comapred to small one.
But noone wants to carry a thck heavy brick in pockets which foldable is.
Iphone 2G was fail like everything copied and paste from apple because apart super high expensive price customer gets a china made product with equal quality.

The last time Oppo used an LTPO screen, the battery endurance rating wasn't that impressive. Maybe Oppo will get it right with this one, but we'll just wait and see.

This tech is (obviously) immature so people are criticing , yet it's clearly the future (just make the inner screen bigger and less thick when folded please.

What the point of a 7.1 inch inner screen. Most flagship phones are almost that size anyway with also having half the thickness of a foldable.

Point of foldables is to give you the (mini) tablet experience in a pocketable form factor. I.e. 8inches and above , only Xiaomi and Huawei managed that thus far. The rest are giving you slightly bigger screens than what you can already get w regular phones, yet double the thickness ... I mean wuuut? What is the point?

Ince regular slab phones get a stylus slot and UDC, it will be the end of them. Companies wont find any way to upgrade them for the following years. Here comes foldable phones. in the future they will be made in such a way that they can ne unfolded/unrolled to 20 or 30 inch screens. They will even make laptops and TV's obsolete.

I am sure we are going to get cheaper big foldable phones but will see if it is 2022 or 2023.

This Oppo foldable will use older snapdragon 888 to cut costs so it will likely be 100-300 dollars cheaper than z fold 3.

Personally i would rather have mid range soc, midrange cameras, 6 gb ram, 128gb storage for big foldable for about 1000 dollars than flagship folding phone for 1300-1600 dollars.

Of course i could next year just buy z flip 3 for 1000 dollars and get still long software and security updates.

I can't think of anything worth working on for 4yrs in smartphones , other than new batteries that no one made.
I sometimes doubt if these companies are really even trying to make new batteries.

Samsung has 3 generations already. Fold 3 surely could benefit of previous projects. This helps to decrease costs. While it is first from Oppo.

Oppo probably is using same cam system of X3 Pro for this Find N, while samsung uses much simpler cameras ( two of them are 1/3.6" and 1/3.4").

I do not think any major brand is able to bring this kind of device now for lower price than samsung without many hardware sacrifices.
