Oppo Find N unveiled with 7.1" foldable display, no gap and capable camera

15 December 2021
Oppo went for a smaller device and picked a sane 18:9 aspect ratio for the external display (the internal one is 8.4:9).

The gap is still there and it barely looks better than the Fold. False advertising

But Samsung king in folding series 😂

TheLastOracle, 16 Dec 2021Nobody would make it. It's a terrible aspect ratioI'm not so sure about that. With a 1:1 screen, you can effectively have two 18:9 windows when splitting two apps side-by-side. Heck, you can even split four apps and have four 1:1 windows at the same time. Come to think about it, 1:1 doesn't sound like a bad idea after all.

This Oppo Find N looks interesting but the Huawei P50 Pocket does not.

Oppo nailed it with the book-type foldable. Huawei didn't it with the clamshell

Let’s be honest, when you use a foldable phone, 80% of the time you use the inner screen right ?
Otherwise better pick a compact phone + a tablet
The inner screen size is too small to be considered as a tablet

I like the 18:9 outer screen, more sensible than what Samsung and Xiaomi can offer. Oppo missed an opportunity to create a perfect square inside screen. I'm still waiting for a foldable screen with 1:1 inside screen.

And now just cut it in half with 1 display only and release such a small phone please 😁👍 that would be awesome with 5.5 inch display.

Finally a foldable with acceptable outer screen aspect ratio (25:9 is a nightmare to use)

K, 15 Dec 2021If they have used Snapdragon 8 gen 1 it would have costed 6... moreI think they should either go with midrange specs(cameras, soc, 6-8gb ram 128-256gb storage) for 1000 dollar price or high end with newest snapdragon soc and high end cameras for closer to z fold 3 price so when the gen 4 fold will come find n would be more compared to z fold 4 because those would have same chipset, newest flagship snapdragon.

Now the phone seems like old flagship foldable and when Samsung makes decent price cut to z fold 3(with launch of 4th gen) it will be about same price but Samsung is premium brand and i doubt people would want Oppo phone for the same price as Samsung with great software support and customer care.

I could be wrong and this will sell like hotcakes but i doubt.

I hope with android 12l coming 1q next year we are going to get flood of new foldables.

Personally i am waiting for big foldable like Xiaomi mi mix fold 2 or Honor magic x but the pricing will be big question.

I am okay with mid range soc which Honor will likely use to get that sweet 1000 dollar price.

I actually like it. It's as tall as an iPhone 13 mini but obviously pretty thick (nearly 17 mm) and heavy (275 g). But the drawbacks are...

                                      - ColorOS
                                      - Still expensive
                                      - Only in China
                                      - Fairly thick and heavy

I know Oppo. I lived right next to a mall in the Philippines and there was a store for it that replaced HTC. Oppo just doesn't cater to other markets and they price their phones pretty high. Like higher than Huawei.

This is very niche and it will probably still be expensive in a few years like the Find X from over 3 years ago. I do like the device and prefer this size to the Fold 3's taller and narrow outer display. It's not better than the Fold 3 but it's better for my usage.
