Qualcomm is being given a sweet ride till now.

They know most of midrange and now even flagships are going with MTK.

So now they are trying to focua a lot on Mobile chips

Ya i support Mediatek next time i buy a flagship... Still have some hours in my. Mi 11 ultra.

BigDisplay, 16 Dec 2021It's soooo sad the best overall chip "Kirin"... moreAgreed. That's what U S of A gov want.. to kill competition in favor for the greedy Apple and Qualcomm.

Let's see what will happen to Mediatek when it gets too much attention.

IpsDisplay, 16 Dec 2021Let's hope mediatek brings the pressure with the dimen... moreQuite frankly, the always on camera on Qualcomm Snap 8 Gen1 is a big turn-off.
In this day and age, it's just adds to the list of privacy concerns.

I am happy with Google opting for Tensor on all their devices, hopefully in 2-3 generations they'll be producing top of the line SoCs. Tensor Gen1 is decent for a first gen SoC but still needs some work to be put into it.

Similarly, Samsung with mRDNA is another thing that appears promising and might yield desirable results in a generation or two.

Now all this buzz about Dimensity, really happy to see alternatives to Qualcomm popping up.

IpsDisplay, 16 Dec 2021Let's hope mediatek brings the pressure with the dimen... moreThe CPU and NPU will be better on the Dimensity, the GPU will be close to snapdragon, the IPS and modem will be better on the snapdragon. Also everything running 10 degrees lower on the Dimensity.

It's soooo sad the best overall chip "Kirin" is out 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Can't wait for Qualcomm to lose to mediatek outside of the US, after Samsung equpits 60% of it's phones this year with exynos + AMD, it will be even more devastating.

Let's hope mediatek brings the pressure with the dimensity 9000

The snap 8 gen 1 is not as important for consumers as the dimensity 9000 the success or failure of the 9000 directly responsible for how competition will be for us consumers

Let's not forget the super shady anti competitive games Qualcomm play with patent trolling

And making some evil contracts forcing OEMs to use their chips sometimes even increasing the cost if they decide to use outsider brand chipsets

You know it's rough when smartsung has to tap unisoc.

The best Unisoc SoC is the T770 Tanggula. In all honesty. Considering Unisoc aims to produce SoC's for the entry level of specs. The T770 Tanggula has an antutu score of 317,000. Which is basically a few years old flagship Snapdragon 800 series SoC. Basically between the SD845 and behind the SD855.

Which for, the area of the market they aim for. (The entry level). It's not bad at all. Which means. That quite soon. Some hefty Midrange SoC's are on there way...

Now watch Unisoc start ramping up there designs to a good solid premium mainstream SoC. Such as the solid midrange area... They are going to do a mediatek...

Apple is going to plummet. And mediatek and Qualcomm both will increase. As well as Unisoc. My eyes are on Unisoc. Got a feeling they have some modest surprises on the way. I am not expecting flagship yet. But solid midrangers... A little bit of patience...
