Nice joke. I guess that means even heavier post processing.
Apple was able to catch up a few years back because manufacturers have gotten lazy with cameras.

T-T, 17 Dec 2021Hardware has been good enough for quite some time now, only... moreYeah, sub 1 inch sensors are not good. There is simply too little information in night photography. Algos can make miracles happen, almost. Still they *can't* invent information that is simply not there.
Phone sensors remain tiny as ever and Samsung's are the tiniest (when it comes to androids), weeell below the 1inch mark. I guess they are good enough for well lot environments. Subpar lighting though while using a sub 1inch sensor remains a no no. Given the price of flagships photography remains one of their weak spots (at the same price you can buy a proper mirroless + a pretty good phone still.
They need to do better in collecting information before going about ameliorating their algos. Samsung is icreasingly left behind...

Whats the dxo score for Xperia Pro 1? Oh! They dint do it? They did not get paid? So sad. Don't worry They will do it after mate 50 Pro and will give it a mediocre score.
DXO is a fake company. And who believe in them are nuts!

I never understood why Samsung processing always tries to make you look like a wax doll, they forgot that there's a whole world outside south Korea and people don't like the androgenous look that south Koreans love.

Well thats till u have a consumers edition. We kinda learned now that whatever preliminary scores and evaluations u make...in real world in consumers hands, maybe 3 or 4 handsets are same but then they are not. Mainly because of software. Had examples how two same phones didnt produce same results at same firmware.
I believe if 22Ultra is at least on G6PRO lvl DXOMARK score it will be good. Thats around 135 or 136.

This should not be hard to pull off, Samsung processing has gotten awful over the last years. S9 photos look much more natural than S20 or S21. All they have to do is go back to the S9 and optimize it a bit for the current sensor.

Same dxo that gave p50 pro higher score than mate 40 pro despite much weak hardware?
Wide was reduced from 1/1.28 to 1/1.56 (also from another supplier of weaker tech) and the super wide went from 1/1.5" to 1/3" (the 1/3" is about 30% of the size of 1/1.5")
