19 December 2021
Samsung changed lanes - from the plastic, utilitarian Galaxy S5 to the sleek Galaxy S6 - and sacrificed multiple features to get there.

It was very beautiful phone for its era

I don't think I've ever seen an S6 in person that didn't have a green line going down the display.

Is it just me, or the photos taken with Galaxy s6 do look better than those from most midrangers these days ?

S6 Edge+ was spectacular. The design is out of this world even with today's standards.

Anonymous, 19 Dec 2021Too big/heavy to be phones. Too small to be tablets. Co... moreAll new tech has flaws.

When the first iPhone was released, people whined how big it was, how expensive it was, and how it didn't have third-party apps that first year. Has a 3.5 inch screen that was huge for its time. The typing on it was terrible because it forced corrections on us.

When the first Note came out, people laughed how large it was. A lot of defunct companies, their innovations ended up standard years later. Think webOS, BB10, HTC's dual front speakers, LG G5's wide-angle, etc. With new changes, of course the mass audience won't accept them right away...

            So-called failures in tech...
            Sega Dreamcast
            Nintendo GameCube
            Sony PS Vita
            Nokia N9
            Palm webOS
            BlackBerry 10
            Nokia phones (pre-Microsoft)
            Motorola phones (pre-Google, pre-Lenovo)
            HTC phones
            LG phones

But many of those left an impact years later after they died.

Anonymous, 19 Dec 2021Ever heard of foldables? Too big/heavy to be phones.
              Too small to be tablets.
              Costs more than both combined.

It reminds me those silly people people that back then said that Continuum and Dex could replace desktop windows and that would be more practical than carrying a laptop.
              LOL !!!!

i used this mobile for 5 years nonstop. it still works well. i upgraded to note 10 now.

Moreover, slimming down phones was never the reason for such actions. The only reason was business for cloud storage subscription and and selling the same phone with high storage variants.

I absolutely loved almost everything about the S6.
My only complaints were the terrible battery life, and the lack of an SD card.
As far as I'm concerned, the camera
Was amazing, even when fully zoomed in, it still took excellent photos.
                      And video.
And even by some of today's mid range phones, it's pretty fast.
It's just as fast as my LG Q plus.

                        This phone was very light.
Does not even feel like glass.

I still have my s6, albeit its in pieces as I broke the screen trying to replace the battery lol, I quite liked it, I think the biggest thing was getting used to the non expansion of storage, everything else wasnt too bad tbh, battery was okay for my usage, nothing special, I mod the hell out of it after it lost official support. I'm tempted to get it repaired as its in perfect condition apart from the screen lol.

But do in inferior ways. They are just more convenient.

Phones will never replace computer. Apps will never be on pair with their computer versions.

Worst phone I've ever bought. Absolutely pure garbage battery with that screen. Paper weight. 2/10

I mean, if the Samsung Xcover phones could retain IP68 with a headphone jack, microSD card slot, AND removable battery, it can totally be done with other makers.
