S3 & and note 2(if we call that a phone) are the two only phone that have so many feature but last by far longer than lumia 920. WP is a hungry os look at lumia 900 also disgusting!!! Android on samsung flagship are well optimized. My girlfriend Samsung galaxy ace can last her for a whole week (monday to friday) with one charge. PS: My girl isn't a heavy user like me. She's only using it to text, call and some time go to facebook rarely.

[deleted post]Yeah really in America and UK, people whose contract get expired will usually call to extend their contract and the salesperson on the other end will try to sell them an iPhone contract by glossing over it's features. It is obvious why these salespersons do so. The costlier the contract, the better their incentives. They get talked into buying an iPhone rather than letting them chose their handsets by themselves. Add to it there are many others using an iPhone means sharing (texting, gaming, facetime and iMessage) is easier if they too use an iPhone than rather not follow the crowd and appear like a fool. In other countries the culture has a vast difference people ignore exclusive features and mostly would already make up their mind on which is the next handset they would purchase, resulting in a better market share for Android.
P.S.: My discussion is not to prove which handset or OS is better, but rather to point out how a handset that offers same/ less features than the competition has maintained a vast majority over others

Because... moreFinally an iphone user that doesn't slate Android but says ios is the best (for them) had an s2 (so knows how to use android) and tried the s3 for 10 days, which is long enough to find all the differences as has an s2 previously, decided it wasn't for them and tried something else that better suits their needs and are perfectly happy with their choice.
This, ladies and gents, is how you choose a smartphone. Not blindly buying whatever next comes out from cupertino or korea but by finding out what suits YOUR needs best.
If you're happy with the phone you decide to buy it wasn't the wrong choice, whatever platform it runs and who makes it.

AnonD-1825, 21 Dec 2012"but it's smooth for a reason. simplicity=smooth"... morei thought you were gonna use a complicated tech view within apple's device, but its just the same hollow words like any android user's bs. of course its the simplicity. by simplified how their os works they can OPTIMIZED that last year hardware. that is also one of the reason why ios is too slow adding new features into it. because they'll need to make the new features fit in an already crowded place, but cleverly arrange so it don't need more "space". it is their own way to OPTIMIZE their os. android is always power hungry, not because of the bloated software, the nexus line also has averaged battery life even though they are running vanilla android.
but don't get me wrong, that simplicity also one of selling point for ios. because its simple it can reach more people, because its simple it can run smoothly. its a core good points about ios. even though that same simplicity also become the reason why android fans prefer android from ios. its TOO simple and boring. I use both iphone and android. I prefer android, as iphone is very expensive and not worth compare to the money need to spend. But if you put out the price factor, i will chose iphone. Ios very sleek, userfriendly, elegant, and rich.

XDA Developer, 22 Dec 2012I'm sure lots of people here were hoping for Android domina... moresays who? we want android right now because it's the best for us. it doesn't mean we don't want apple or windows to evolve. actually we want competition that's why we bash their crappy software thinking these companies would improve next time around. but are they improving? are they? in sales maybe. but that's because people buy them for reasons only they themselves can understand.

the good thing about this is OS is Open Source, can use freely than other. Such developer can provide usefull apps to innovate this OS.

Cause last time I checked there was no DirectX 10 support for windows XP. Which means that in terms of graphics performance you're no less than *7* SEVEN years behind in that department. Oh! and no GPGPU in IE for you either...

The truth is, Apple know their devices hardwares limitation thus chooses iOS to be a CLOSE COMMUNISM-OS. Yes, you read that right, there's no freedom with iOS. That's also the reason why they can provide SURFACE (SKIN) DEEP SMOOTH, and SIMPLICITY the OS with the limitation of the hardwares.
So due to limitation of their devices, you'll see Apple implement new features bit by bit throughout with yearly upgraded hardwares device.
For example ealrly iphone models DOEs NOT HAVE, copy and paste, MMS, Java, Video recording, Photo cannot crop and many more. All this functions missing due to they potentially slow down the user experience with the limitation of hardwares and older iOS version. Therefore Apple intentionally exclude them until they find a way to overcome the hardwares, system software and the slowness limitation.
Unfortunately ios still does not able to overcome their devices slowness with FLASH, therefore there's still no FLASH support on all ios devices.

Android have hundreds of cellphones but apple have now only 4, 4s and 5 to sell still apple is far or near in sale compare android. Because apple's software is so smooth and fun to use. ITS Browser is best . Apps run smooth . Scratch less aluminium body is also feel good. More than 7 lack apps. APPLE IS BEST
