Chinese manufacturing can be good, but not if the company is chinese owned and the products are developed by chinese engineers.
"China can make quality products but not under chinese management, the quality depends on the mother company". This i was told by a chinese business man who owns a business in other country. The truth is that chinese managers are very frustrated with the foreign companies and their quality control, because chinese has no concept of this and cannot understand it. Eventually china will reach that point but not yet.

I have many 'european' products at home like satellite receivers that some exploded on my face and others just stopped working, so about quality wise I prefer todays chinese/korean/japanese over rubbish american/european.

Btw the size is Ok with me, I'm hoping the rumors about a 6 inch Full HD Sony is true. It's the cheap crap i don't want.

Bro, why write off Huawei even before it is available? Which of those American and Euro handphones & tabs are not made in China? All voice down to quality control! Even LG nexus 4 's glass back is fragile!

Go on folks keep calling this chinese garbage while the Chinese perfect their product with each iteration and laugh their way to the bank. Remember the late 60's with Toyota being made fun of, or how about Samsung when they first started out. The classic hare and the turtle race, they are well on their way to becoming #1super power.

Samsung that time released Note 1... they also like gambling ... they dunno how is the market going for this model. But who knows it indeed sell well.. that's why come the better NOTE 2 with slightly longer screen but slimmer. Hence, this Huawei they think they can sell well or maybe even can beat Note 2 market with such features and screen lolx... for me 5.5' upto this limit. If want get bigger gadget, rather get a tablet. No one want a 6.1 phablet or Note 3 6.3' phablet... cant fit into guys pocket is a no no...

What european phone brands? Ericsson backed out, Siemens too, Alcatel? There is only Nokia left, and they don't think of producing any android devices. American? Apple, RIM, well again no Android, Motorola left then. Rest of the bunch is HTC (Taiwan China) Samsung, Lg (South Corea) Asus, Acer etc. (China). Good luck..

[deleted post]you don't know if Chinese factories close down.. your iPhone will cost $1000 instead of $500... and every freaking US and/or most of the EU electronic devices are assembled in China with a low pay. And yeah, they do have a premium quality devices as well as a cheap quality.. It depend how much you can offort!... but If it was assembled in US or EU with a high pay, It'd be very expensive to offort for it, so buy it or leave it, and no one cares BUT RICHES!
