Weekly poll: what do you think of the Xiaomi 12 series?

02 January 2022
Can the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro top the other Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 phones? Or is the Xiaomi 12X a better pick?

Sort by:

An PRO phone with the latest CPU and not even OIS ? What a shame to start this year with.

"The Motorola Edge X30, the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered phone"
Yes, it was made just to be the first. It heated up to 60°c. Probably the worst optimized phone for this processor.

Second, spoiler alert, apple is the ditching the mini, because simply most consumers don't care, so there will be an iphone 14 and an iphone 14 max instead of the mini. Happy new year.

From 6.28" to 7.23" only gain extra 100mah.

I guess I'll wait for S22. Sorry Xiaomi.

12X seems like my future phone, much better VFM and availability than Pixel 5, though I am still not very excited about how long is it and lack of jack, but it seems the best option for someone who want decent compact phone with good camera, only other options in recent years were Pixel 4A with unusable battery and Zenfone 8 with unoptimized buggy Asus Android plus unnecessary high specs for much higher price than I am willing to pay, 12X will be probably quite expensive in beginning as well, but drop is much more likely than at zenfone or P5

                    What I think:
no headphone jack? We're done here.

"the 6.28” display is a welcome departure"
                      For who ?
So now if I want a larger display I have to pay 300 bucks more.

i recently got a 11t pro coming from xperia xz2
i wish this phone launched last year since a smaller flagship is pretty hard to find these days.
might actually sell 11tpro to get a 12 or 12x depending on resale value and pricing in EU.
would love to see this become a standard. around 6 inch devices maybe even less.
makes me wonder what happens once apple dumps 120hz screens on their regular and mini series how many people will drop their tablet phones for that.
so yeah more pocketable phones would be really great! this is phone is still not small but this is a step in the right direction.
