One can use either PlayStation or XBox controller with ROG Z13. As I understand both can work on Bluetooth. There is no need to design new controllers for gaming on the Z13
I use the DualShock 4 with a USB cable. The Type A USB connector is great as the DualShock 4 uses micro-USB.

and I don't give a damn about performance. I grabbed this for the extra shoulder buttons, sustained performance not just peak performance and battery life

As for budget phones, why would ASUS bother with that when you guys have Xiaomi to play with. Just go to them if you really care about value for money.
