    even oneplus flagships are limited to 2 major android updates.oneplus7 is stuck on android11. so,additonal fluid 12 months without any update shouldn't be so diffcult.

      TuV certification for consumer electronics is just marketing trick. You pay - you get it. Btw i'm using essential phone ph-1 from 2017 and is runs smooth as butter. Same with Samsung S9 released in 2018, runs like new.

          Then you have no clue what TUV Rheinland is as a company, they aren't just smartphones certification entity, they test and certifies various applications, even trains and carnival rides attractions for their safety.

                Wasn't OnePlus known as one of rare Android phones that didn't degrade in performance with time unlike all competitors? I remember high praises in that regard because all other Androids slowed down heavily if there was no factory reset done in between. Something iPhones seem to be immune to as well as I'm 3rd year on phone that was never reset and it's still as snappy as it was on day 1. Which puts OnePlus in an unique position if they still god the mojo for long term speed and reliability despite being swallowed by BBK entirely.

                  OP died with Carl Pei. Last good OP is OP 8 series, and even they screw the phone with stupid updates. Green tint, slow phones, lack of updates, disable cam features.

                    All iPhones are certified with 60-month fluency TÜV certification.
                    More than any smartphone in the world.

                    Google pixel 6 series is also coming close, but only with security updates.

                      Well, that's great if you stay on the same software for 36 months and not update it on the phone. But you'll end up having to update to patch Android vulnerabilities anyway.

                                  TÜV must be among the biggest grifters in thr smartphone industry. I don't trust them for a minute.

                                        IDK how are the 9 and 9 Pro now, I heard OxygenOS 12 update ruined all the optimizations they did on OxygenOS 11, possibly due to the ColorOS merge, but with times it should get better.
