SamsungFan, 10 Jan 2022Hey, I myself own an A52s and I hate that Samsung is bot... moreA52s is a nice mobile. I checked that in a samsung store. It feels great in hand. Hope they won't downgrade this one.
I agree, removing 3.5 mm jack was like snatch hammer. They will whatever it takes to increase the sale at multiple levels. For eg: Note 20 ultra Audio: 32bit sound but inbox earphone didn't utilise that well. So buy a connector which supports hi res. audio ie of samsung only. Then buy a good hi res. earphone or just live with a mediocre audio quality.
They can simply put a jack in it but then who will purchase buds **t . And guess what they gave an option of LDac via bluetooth but didn't launch a single earphone which can take advantage and others have compatibility issues. WTH. I mean, What, why .?? It is a pure harrasment.

I had lg G7+ Thinq before this and trust me it was an awesome experience with audio with full advantage of HI FI QUAD DAC. No worries, no extra spending, so simple. Still an outstanding performance.
Sony left India a few years ago, if they would be here trust me.. scamsung would be trouble with this behaviour.

Anonymous, 10 Jan 2022They're behind because they have to pay obscene amount... moreYou do realize that it is because Qualcomm holds a monopoly over some key network bands in the U.S, right?
Even, Apple pays a lot of money for this.

Not sure which bands these are tbh, but IIRC they should be the mmWave band, CDMA and something else. Again, I am not sure which specific bands Qualcomm owns but they definitely own some.

Money they could have used to improve their own chips. The US does not allow phones with Exynos chips to be sold in the US market.

As long as people keep spending their hard earned money on Exynos version of smartphones, Samsung will keep equipping its devices with this crappy SoC.

Anonymous, 10 Jan 2022If Samsung has been making chips for a long time and still ... moreI concur. Not sure why their SoC game is so far behind than the competition despite them being in the business for so long.

Hopefully the improvements that Samsung LSI promised with GAAFET are as good as their projections seem to indicate. More importantly, hopefully they move onto it soon.

Lastly, being bad at something doesn't mean a company should just up and quit. They have somehow kept Samsung LSI in operation. Which is a good thing for consumers in the long run as it prevents a monopoly. Look at Qualcomm and TSMC, neither were the leaders at SoC and node manufacturing respectively but they prevailed and are now here where we see them.
Technological improvements take time. Samsung may not be the best competitor to Qualcomm and Mediatek but I'll take it over no competition.

I myself own an A52s and I hate that Samsung is botching its successor.
I mean for crying out loud they're removing 3.5mm Jack on a midranger!

So, not really feeling the Samsung vibes myself these days. Hopefully they improve/we get a better Android OEM that we all can hop to.

Right now, am not looking for any mobile change. It was just my opinion. I have Note 20 Ultra with Exynos trash. I will never go for samsung again after this one. They completely ruined the whole mobile setup through updates. They downgraded everything like Camera, sound, performance and experience. Current experience is nowhere near to out of box experience. I missed my camera setup very much and they don't care for premium customer after purchase.
From now on, am leaving android ecosystem, i had tab s7 which is now replaced with iPad pro 256 wifi (2021). And samsung laptop with iMac 2020, may be at end of this year will go for an iPhone. Didn't plan yet for model. But atleast iOS stick to its quality and features never compromised to sell new models. Thats exploitation is what samsung is doing.

Why don't they sell their chip in their own country Korea? They make a chip but it's not for home use, only for foreign countries. That's sus as hell and just proves they're aware how trash their chips are

Conclusion, buy an iPhone and forget Samsung that is already like the Chinese throwing refried every minute, to see if it raises some sales, Samsung has become greedy and manipulative, it is better a phone that only sent one each year and you forget Complications

Samsung should've skipped the S21 FE honestly and released the S22 series earlier instead. Really disappointed to see exynos back again.

                      Hell NO

Jasper5774, 10 Jan 2022One plus 9 pro is available at 55k. Hmmm... Hard choice. You might as well get an Exynos based Samsung or an Snap 870 Poco over a trash device like OnePlus.
Despite being from the same parent company, I'd recommend getting Oppo or Realme over OnePlus. That's how bad it is these days.

Anywho, it'd be better if you wait for 2022 phones to launch. No point in getting Android 11 devices when Android 12 devices are on their way.

S22 is around the corner and it might be worth checking out what Exynos 2200 has in store for us.

Not expecting mRDNA to slay the Jabberwocky but I hope thermals have been improved this time. This is especially important considering Snapdragon 8 Gen1 has apparently botched thermals, making either Exynos or Dimensity our last hope for a proper phone SoC and not a makeshift toaster.

Anonymous, 10 Jan 2022Also i forgot to mention, the advantage is that Snapdragon ... moreBeing afraid of Apple isn't the reason why Google made the Tensor and Samsung made Exynos. You're ignorant if you think that's the case, especially for Samsung who've been in the chip making business for quite a long time.

Regarding Qualcomm vs Exynos, the matter isn't as black and white as you make it out to be. Until S6/S7 the narrative of Qualcomm being superior was non-existent. Heck they're on 810\801 (memory fuzzy) was an absolute disaster. Sure it was a while ago but it's proof that the narrative about Qualcomm being clearly superior to Exynos is a very recent thing. Basically, they're not perfect and this is pretty much proven with the disaster known as Snap 888. So, please don't do the job for Qualcomm's marketing team for them.

As for Exynos 2100 vs Snap 888, Snap 888 was terrible last year and only marginally better than Exynos. Sure, Exynos 2100 is probably the best Exynos till date but that still doesn't make it a chip one should buy especially if they plan to hold on to their device for a 2-3 years.

If someone is looking for a phone to buy this year then it'd be best to wait for phones with Snapdragon 8 Gen1, Exynos 2200 (mRDNA GPU), Dimensity 9K and hopefully Tensor Gen2.

Mostly, an average is between 15k to 30K INR. Above that amount, every expect will be under considration.
