Koala, 31 Dec 2012E7 have faster processor than N900. 1 core 680 MHZ vs 1 cor... moreahaha, a megahertz man, havent seen one since 2003-2004.

Sorry to break it to you, but megahertz is not a meassure of performance between different processors. What matters is how much work the processor can do per clock cycle, or IPC, Instructions Per Clock, and thats where Arm11 processors fail so miserably. On paper they are not too far behind but in realistic real life usage scenarios they fail badly, and that one of the reasons why NOkia went for WP8, Symbian could not use modern processors like A8 and Scorpion.

Its well know that N8 and E7 are both exceptionally slow phones. Webbrowsing benchmarks place them miles behind Cortex A8 devices like N900 and Galaxy S.

After Looking at the video i feel Windows phone (7.8 & 8) is much much better in looks & easy to Use. personally i didn find anything interesting in sailfish OS since i was expecting something very attractive UI.

n9user, 31 Dec 2012many people here are saying that the GUI is complicated and... moreIt is a very clever evolution. In Harmattan you drag horizontally at Sailfish you drag vertically.

This type of interface is not simple, it is simplified, and is much more efficient than the traditional. Everything is always on hand with quick access and switching. This shift from horizontal to vertical, notice, dispensed with the use of some buttons on the interface.
In the horizontal interface of N9 you still had to stretch your finger to touch somewhere, in Sailfish not, you can scroll and select items in lists by moving your thumb from the bottom up and top down. This is a small change but people still do not seem to have understood the greatness that this change represents. You will NEVER need to stretch your finger to touch any interface buttons. You will NEVER need to find a comfortable position for the device in your hand, the optimal position to hold it at all times and is always simply confortavalmente seated in your hand.

its good, intuitive, no doubt. But then it doesn't seem simple for the average Joe to use.

The swipe-based Harmattan implementation of Meego was the last new, yet incredibly simple UI that I've seen on a smartphone OS.

The iOS was also very simple - one of the key factors of its success.

I'd like to think that if the N9 would've received better and wider marketing and support, it would've been hugely popular :)

N9 and N950 has about 5 to 6 times faster processor than N97 Mini, and 8 times more RAM, plus a capable GPU and much higher RAM bandwidth, N97 Mini cannot even run newer versions of Symbian. Even the old N900 has like 8x the power of N97, much more if you count the PowerVR GPU.

many people here are saying that the GUI is complicated and has to be worked on... if you're an N9 user, it's very similar (which is sophisticated and simple) . instead of swiping all the way to go to a homescreen, it just fades so you can take a peek (but same gestures. just swipe from left to right, vice versa. what's so complicated about that?).

i say it's an improvement that can still be improved. N9's meego has some features which are underrated and not really given attention to which most OS' are considering as a "new" feature added.

but hey! if ever there's such thing as a perfect OS, then that will be the day when phone sales will go down, because if every body got the best, why should they buy newer phones (probably just for specs).
