I can imagine other people using some other apps. But these are things we pay hundreds of bux today. Sorry, but it is not market telling me I need apps.

AnonD-94983, 31 Dec 2012There is already a very similar Symbian version of the N950... moreLoL, its only on the outside its a bit lookalike, the specs are very differnt, E7 is painfully slow and weak with its low clocked ARM11 processor and small RAM, and it has a low res amoled display. Its a joke of a phone.
N900 is the super qwerty device, its processor is twice as fast as E7, for some usages even more, and you can install whatever OS you like on it if you dont like the Maemo5 and EasyDebian.

That ... moreyou may be completely correct but the general public doesn't have the same view as you, look at people even here on this website who refuse to consider a wp because "my wp hazz no appzzz no gamezzzz" people generally believe that an OS is only as good as the ecosystem.

i want ask 1 thing that can nokia will make any patent on bb10 phones ui?
salfish is next version of meego...its running on n950(demo)...so i must expect these cross developer(ex-nokia jolla)will port these os to nokia n9 as multiboot..

An OS is only as good as the apps and their quality?! That is what the market wants you to think! A phone and OS are good as long as they empower you to be easily connected and more proficient communicating. Technology is a great thing as long as it does not get in the way. If an OS has awesome battery and signal, standard connectivity. ports and protocols. Throw in a good camera GPS and lossless music playback and sign me in... just with the Nokia N9. I just don't believe the whole "ecosystem" hype, how they nickel and dime you for everything or how you produce mass anonymous info either by being tracked physically or virtually on the net. I am backing Jolla all the way, love a linux intuitive mobile OS that's far from the whole "app" idiocy.

I had higher expectations for this OS but this is terrible. The UI is so ugly. It looks a lot like BlackBerry 10 but it's definitely not as elegant or user-friendly. You'd have to be a massive MeeGo fan to overlook how horrible the UI is and still want to buy it. I honestly don't think there's much hope for this OS. Compare BlackBerry 10 to this and you'll see how much nicer BB10 is. (By the way, I have an Android phone so I'm not a BlackBerry fan boy... just telling it how I see it as a consumer)
