It's "more" Linux than Android. No VM means it's native apps will be faster than Android's dalvik based apps.
Google should abandon dalvik too. It was created for low memory devices but now most has half GB RAM at least. Even windows 2000 was running very smooth on that RAM size.

I want that phone (Nokia N950) be equipped with WP 8Mor symbian i dont care, i just want that phone! Full QWERTY and slide-tilt keyboard is my fave phone...

MeeGo OS is perfect since ive used N9 , the only thing that i faced hardly is that No Apps , Games , support wich forced me to get rid off it , while i loved alot !
So .. Just make more ability and options in this OS and Support for all Android APPS&GAMES , and one more thing i think presenting the OS on many brands like Android doing on Samsung Sony HTC Motorola is much better then lonly jolla .

Looks cool on the N9, I just love that phone! After time if the final Jolla OS can be ported to it I'll seriously consider finally buying it!

Does not look like a worthy Maemo5 successor to me, this looks specialized and trying to be fancy. The beauty and power of Maemo5 came from it being a touch optimized desktop OS, as it was based more directly on Debian compiled for ARM with the addition of a phone app.
N900 remains the only cellphone to be a computer trying to be a smartphone, all other smartphones, N9 and Sailfish included, are smartphones trying to be computers.
Its clear to me that Sailfish cannot push Meamo5 down from the throne as best mobile OS ever, Sailfish merely builds on the failed MeeGo OS, which already had stepped too far away from the path Maemo5 had pointed out, Sailfish just continues in that same wrong direction as MeeGo. I had both N900 and N9 and i loved the N900 more the more i used it, while my enthusiasm for the N9 never took off and it just cooled off more and more the more i used it. Even hardware wise the N9 was an utter failure, no card slot and the AMOLED display had seriously low clarity thanks to the pentile matrix, small fonts looked like mutated babies after a nuclear war (as they do on all pentile)

Have had enough of android that is so demanding that it never works well even in midrange phones and the os is a battery batterer.Have had enough of wp os that forgot to put mass storage support,common bluetooth support till 7.8 and is now learning it (where is their securitymania now?).Have had enough of ios that never releases midrange working phones.at least samsung bada was much better than these.and yeah symbian too.the more these os-s are trying to dissociate themselves from symbian,the more they are going back to symbian.what do they have that a symbian didn't?show me any app of any os and i'll show a symbian equivalent of it.jolla is better than all these os-s as it doesn't have and doesn't want to have a so called dedicated app store that chains its users to only one app store.jolla is flexible and fluid as is evident in its demo videos.all that remains to be seen is its battery back up and stability.

oh nokia, why don't you just use android.. wasting time and money developing new OS and using windows mobile? also hire new people to design your phones, its really not attractive anymore.
