Weekly poll: OnePlus 10 Pro, hot or not?

16 January 2022
The phone launched earlier this week with a flash sale in China, as for the global launch OnePlus said "open sale starts this spring".

Phones these days barely bring any worthwhile upgrades now. Every incoming flagship being the same old story that is, more RAM and storage, higher megapixels, that ever growing screen and a little tweaks here and there, apart from the usual change of processor and of course that pointless increase in charging speeds. All of which is well beyond of what an average person needs, but manufacturers do that anyways, instead of bringing actually useful features such as better water resistance, if any, or better pocketability and design, longer software support, or batteries that don't explode, for better safety. Flagship phones these days are frankly super boring to even look at, except the folding ones perhaps

      imagine buying a chinese phone

The OnePlus 10pro is trash here is why:

1)It has a useless brand collaboration with hassleblaf at least so far... Lol hassleblad colorss.. what a joke

Huawei set a bar with lieca even if you don't like the pictures Huawei co developed hardware like RYYB and it was a very tangible out come

        2) OXYGEN OS is DEAD

With the oppo merge say goodbye to the somewhat near stock experience and now it's just a redundant mess an oppo Frankenstein..

And lastly it doesn't stand out in any aspect.. the competition will EASILY bring more features and possibly for even less

The only good thing I'll give them is availability in the US market.. the great USA that has like only Samsung and Apple as official brands available to the consumers via carries/stores etc

Some time ago I used to buy the newest flagship phone every time one came out.I'm the "tech guy" i love anything with a cpu in it.Last few years have been awful in mobile though.Buying any flagship is a dumb decision now.For twice the money you get a 5% better camera,an overheating, inefficient power-draining SOC that has no place anywhere near a battery powered device and ESSENTIAL missing features like the headphone jack. And don't even start the wireless debate. For serious use there's no contest.Oh,and maybe a QHD or 4k resolution display, which would have to be 20 inches in order to see the difference and would only further decrease the performance of that overheating chip. And why do we need that power ? For mobile "gaming" which is a big micro-transactional joke.Mobile is in a terrible spot right now.

              Honestly sick of this charade.
Literally no one needs more cpu performance, we had enough of it even with snapdragon 670. We need better Gpu, ISP and power efficency.
And whatever bs is this 150° uw camera, that looks like the smallest ultrawide sensor at this price range (pretty sure the uw on the pixel 6 would give better results thanks to bigger pixels)
This is a great case of all numbers on paper with no real world use.
The nord 2 is a way better phone with a stellar primary cam that meets 99% of all user's needs. Maybe give up on overpriced trash and focus on the nord line now.

Probably locked to 60fps in gaming.

After OP 8 , OnePlus went downhill. No longer a flagship killer.

Why won't they use different camera hardware.. They are clearly struggling with computational photography so why not use all the hardware advantage they can? They certainly price the phones like they are using the best of the best.

Perfectly happy with the entry level device. Open to upgrade to lower midrange levels. But that's about it. Buying a flagship is the worst possible investment to make and the best way to complicate life. They are just a liability as long as they are alive where the bills never stop mounting one above the other. The manufacturers made sure of that fact.
