This gives even more reason for them to continue the mini line.
If there's very little difference between the 14 and the 14 pro lines, it makes much more sense to make the larger model exclusive to the pro lines to keep up sales, while still giving something to mini-model fans.

The Pro models will most likely have a more advanced camera system and maybe adopt a new hole-punch design.

That's just natural progression. Apple likes to drip feed features onto their cheaper phones. At least they're not reintroducing 720p displays.
