Anonymous, 15 Jan 2022What do you mean? The iPhone 13 starts with 128 GB.Read my comment again. The article referred to the rumoured iPhone 14 series of phones and so did I.

No need to argue about whether 64 GB is enough. All iPhone 13 models start with 128GB and there is no chance whatsoever that they would go back to 64 for iPhone 14.

DaFink, 16 Jan 2022I’m sorry you don’t like what your reading but I’m really n... moreGary's last video is flawed and honestly quite disappointing.
He tested different Android phones with different Android versions and mostly used games. For somebody like him I wound expect he knew that different android phones treat games differently. From example Xioami phones really don't like to keep games in RAM, actually various Xioami phones I've tested kick games out of RAM even if it's the only app opened. OnePlus phones exhibit similar behaviors only not as aggressive while Pixels and Samsungs don't.
Like a lot of uses have suggested in the comment section of that clip Gary should have tested the same brand of android smartphones with different RAM configuration(for example a Pixels with 4-6-8-12 GB RAM) and not only concentrate on games, result would have been more conclusive.
Anyway I see how apple fanboys constantly regurgitate the same preconceptions they don't even actually understand or have any technical knowledge of: "Android is very resource heavy and need to throw a lot of RAM at it", "iOS is optimized, optimized bla bla", "you can do with 6GB on iOS the same thing you can on Android with 12GB", "Android users only look at big numbers", or "numbers don't matter" and so on and they do this only to hide their insecurities.
If ios is so incredibly absolutely perfect I don't understand why apple fanboys feel the need to shout it all the time.

Anonymous, 16 Jan 2022App killers are atrocious on most Chinese phones who are ob... moreAgreed, it is the Chinese brands that are mostly guilty of this behaviour. And yes iOS will inevitably hit the limits of its own RAM subject to the amount available. Having used both extensively though (and most of my time using smartphones has been with Android), I cannot say I have ever personally seen any benefits of having all that extra RAM.
I know it’s not a popular take, but it’s hardly me alone that has noticed, RAM is mainly another hardware spec that can be easily increased by the Android oem’s with new product generations in order to have another WOW spec on paper. Very little thought seems to go into how make best use of it. Quite the contrary it seems, most of the effort then goes into limiting both the os and apps use of RAM.
Some Android phones have 18gb of the stuff, and if memory serves isn’t there even talk of one having 20gb?!?! I mean come on, how is that in any way necessary? And by the time it does become a good idea the phones that have it now, are going to be long forgotten relics, at least as far as software support goes.

No one says we don't want more RAM, we're just saying it's not really needed that much. If all models will have 120Hz displays and 6GB of RAM, then great. Even less separation on under the hood specs which is a win for the users. I just wonder if 120Hz will be 60 or 120Hz locked on lower models and higher will have ProMotion or they're getting ProMotion on all and only separation will be cameras on the back and battery size in pro Max which was always larger due to larger phone size.

The next feature I would like to see is one rear camera for everything. I miss designs with just one camera on back. Currently designs with few back cameras are just ugly. One rear camera for everything is the future.

64GB is garbage. The internal data, apps and couple of iPhone update will chew up pretty much 50GB in 6 month. Then you won't be able to record couple of minutes video. So, I suggest buy minimum with 128GB.

I had this nonsense on Huawei and Xiaomi and it drove me insane. It was so annoying because even if you excluded them, "protected" them with a lock, they kept killing the apps I absolutely wanted to run. Some stuff does reload on iOS, but I suspect that's by design. Everything else just works without any silly fiddling or begging the damn OS to leave my apps running.

Anonymous, 16 Jan 2022Idk what were they doing with their phones but my android f... moreI never said they don’t work, I said they likely don’t make the most of the hardware included, and the future proofing agreement only goes so far because a large portion on Android device’s do not enjoy the lengthy software support lifecycle to make to back it up.
And that’s ignoring why an oem would pack in excess amounts of ram and then go to the trouble of developing software features to limit the amount of background processes that can run 🤷♂️
My last Android smartphone (not counting a Moto E I have gathering dust somewhere around here) was the Galaxy S10 Plus which has 8gb of ram, I didn’t keep it that long before switching to an iPhone XR which had 3gb. I honestly can’t say I noticed drop in the number of apps I was able to jump between.
But like I said this isn’t just me saying this, it’s hardly a new issue, other more qualified people have looked into this numerous times and are pretty much saying the same thing.

Anonymous, 16 Jan 2022it's maybe enough for old people like you, not for peo... moreBecause old people totally have 2TB of cloud storage where they store bulk of their important stuff. Good luck recovering 250GB of photos from a phone that gets run over by a truck or falls into a lake or something. It's why I always just buy the smallest possible version and have the rest stored outside the phone. 80% of my 64GB of storage is filled with phone backups of apps and settings, not user content. Everything that can be reinstalled on another phone in few clicks.
microSD cards help as you can pop them out and move data to other phone, but most phones don't have it anymore and if phone is lost or destroyed with card together, it's of no use anyways.
