With that ancient HD display, it never had a chance to begin with. Even the iPhone 11 disappointed with the same HD LCD that was already outdated years ago, but apple is still using it 💀

Anonymous, 15 Jan 2022I love it when people who have absolutely no clue mock RAM ... moreCan’t really blame them though. Androids an extremely resource hungry OS. Instead of optimizing they’re constantly increasing resources like battery capacity and RAM to compensate.
Fandroids are therefore conditioned that higher is better. Thank Android for the d1ck measuring game they started. It’s all about specs on paper for these people.

PMKLR3m, 15 Jan 20226gb of ram lol.I love it when people who have absolutely no clue mock RAM capacity in iPhones. Meanwhile even 12GB Androids stutter and lag because they are just throwing specs at problems they can't solve in software. I can't imagine using a 3GB Android phone right now, but iPhone with "only" 3GB is still snappy as a brand new flagship. But laugh at 6GB all you want lol, just shows how clueless you are.

Shanti Dope, 15 Jan 2022That "cheapest iPhone" is also really why it was ... moreI don't see anyone using it here so I doubt anyone is still buying it here. I don't know where you are so maybe people are still buying it where you are but they'll have to be 2nd hand phones. Apple have stopped producing them so there shouldn't be any new stock available.

LOL, 15 Jan 2022The only practical advantages Android phones have over iPho... moreThe belief that Samsung makes the best version of Android is the reason why we have the horror that is 12.
Samsung have spent decades randomly fiddling with the fundamental way Android is designed to work while injecting needless bloat.
Samsung phones were still, to the best of my knowledge, updating the old fashioned way because of how far away from the root system they are - every other Android phone does quick system updates.
The only reason why OneUI is not as slow as the dreaded Touchwiz is because the phones are far more powerful, it’s the same way Windows went from unusable to good enough when compared to other OSs in the ‘90s.
Samsung produced the most childish and toy-like version of Android, right up until Google unleashed Pixel 6, yet this was apparently the best. They have a free pass with reviewers (LG faced criticism for essentially copying Samsung at the same time) because they have the largest advertising budget and are very good at schmooze.
I have used Samsung flagships and found them absolutely horrible, every time I touch one it feels like I need to relearn everything I know about Android, I remember when they forced backwards soft keys in their interface.
Anyway, rant over and for full disclosure, I recently switched to iOS due to persistent GPS issues in A11.

Anonymous, 15 Jan 2022iPhone XR sold well because it was the cheapest iPhone with... moreThat "cheapest iPhone" is also really why it was loved by so many people. It offered virtually the same superb performance of the more expensive iPhone XS phones for a much more reasonable price with relatively tolerable trade-offs to make to keep the cost down.
If the only reason that people bought the XR is because of MKBHD overhyping it, then those people who bought that phone must be highly disappointed after purchasing that phone. Well, it turns out that so many people, perhaps the vast majority are actually totally satisfied with their purchase of the iPhone XR.
Of course, it is already 3 years old so it's not being sold that much anymore, but there are still more iPhone XR being sold than any 2018 Android flagship that I know, and I bet that people are more willing to purchase an iPhone XR in 2022 than any 2018 Android flagship.

Shanti Dope, 15 Jan 2022Regardless if it was a move for Apple to save costs, the en... moreiPhone XR sold well because it was the cheapest iPhone with FaceID at the time and because of shills like MKBHD and the verge calling it the best iPhone for most people. They didn't buy it because they thought the 720p lcd display on it was awesome. It was merely usable at best. Anyway, I don't see anyone using it anywhere anymore.

Anonymous, 15 Jan 2022It doesn't keep more than 4 apps open though lmao With the limited amount of RAM, of course it can't keep many apps open in the background. Still, the 3GB RAM of iPhones can keep more apps running than 3GB RAM of Android phones due to great optimization of iOS and the hardware itself being well-integrated with the software running on it.
How about the thing that really matters more, which is the general performance? Can your 12GB RAM Android flagship perform just as fast after 5 years as it did on the first day like how the iPhones can? Go back to me when you find your answer to that.

As usual it doesn’t matter if the upgrade is incremental as long as it’s well done.
Apple competes in a market of one, they only have to do enough to tempt customers who want to either upgrade or switch to iPhone.
Only the tech savvy will really care about these upgrades, the rest will be perfectly enticed by the Apple experience, which won’t change.
This will be fine.

The only practical advantages Android phones have over iPhones are: the ability to sideload apps (apk files) without needing to go through the Google Play app store, microSD card slot (if available and if you need to use it, I don't care for it), and having certain Android-exclusive apps e.g. emulators not available on the Apple app store.
Samsung's OneUI is the gold standard implementation of Android, better than stock Android. Unfortunately Samsung phones come with preinstalled bloat and Samsung has made an unholy alliance with Microsoft, preinstalling certain Microsoft apps.

LOL, 15 Jan 2022Android fanboys can't see beyond the big numbers on th... moreTheir thinking that they're always ahead of iPhone users is really funny at this point. They will keep bragging about how their Android flagships are far superior to any iPhone, but after some time, they'll upgrade immediately because the phone has already reached its end of software support and is no longer as fast as it is when it was brand new, while iPhone users are easily holding on to their iPhones even after more than 5 years just because of how reliable they are and Apple is still supporting such old hardware with the latest iOS and security updates.
Where are those people who kept on saying that the Galaxy Note 8 is better than the iPhone X? I wonder how their Note 8 has kept up with the iPhone X after so many years now.....
