It's so absurd that even at the end of 2022 there might be iPhones that still run at 60 hz, like come on this is getting way too much and it is time they finally give 120 to all their phones, even that SE

If the app only supports 60, it will run at 60 but the hardware will still refresh 120 times a second. The hardware is incapable of a variable rate. It's locked.

If they care so much, why don't they buy you a 1000€ iPhone Pro so you'll have the same smooth experience? I mean if they "care" so much and all...

Lesson from this: Buy phone for yourself, not for others. I bought iPhone XR for myself and myself only and I love it. It's everything I expected from it. I don't give 2 flying f**ks what others think because I don't have iPhone 13 Pro Max Ultra Superduper that screams how much money I can throw around.

Nah, this is just apple creating a hype that is 2-3 years late than the competition and then having the audacity to say on stage- "ground-breaking, industry-first feature".

A locked 120Hz is not a solution as it would decimate the battery life of the device, Apple will never put that in their products. Low/mid-end Android is all about specs, that's what sells its basically a spec war, so when the not-too-bright peeps see 120Hz on the spec sheet, they don't think twice.
