Luckily, e.foundation continues to provide updates for 6 and 6T. Latest /e/ OS versions work on even very old phones. I love privacy and /e/ is the best option for private android.

I love the updates, but they are not so essential for me. Still using my Nokia 8 Sirocco from April, 2018 (bought it in December, 2018), and I'm fine with the lack of support. The last update I've got was in June 2021 (May 2021 Security Patch).

It is funny how people are feeling entitled that "their bugs" need to be fixed. I see people complaining on issues with some apps that majority of other users use daily without any problems - that is not hardware or software issue. You should be question yourself why it works for others and not for me and few others. If it is a bug it would not work for anyone. Invest time in researching solutions and how to fix instead of complaining. lol

Remember the below points and it will be easier
                  1. Phone launch does not align with Android version launch
                  2. OS updates and security patches have different update frequencies

YUKI93, 17 Jan 2022The OP6 did receive three OS update because it was shipped ... moreThey won't do that. They won't provide latest OS update for one of the 6 series phone and keep other one hanging.

There's a compromise in buying the T series phone with no latest OS but you get slightly updated specs and a better pricing. So, thats the compromise there and I think it equals up.

One of the best supported phones by OnePlus in a long time. No regrets whatsoever owning this phone but they should have released a final update for the remaining bugs and then call it a day.

So much for that supposedly good update support from OnePlus. Three years of support is very mediocre.

This article says December 2021 Android Security update, but rest assured, this is totally incorrect.

Yes, the Android 11 was pushed to us in August /September and the last OOS update came in late November, Nov 25, 2021. That was it! Android Security Patch was date Nov 01, 2021.

Despite Oppo releasing the Android 12 update for a number of its midrange phones, there's no sign of even a beta for the Nord 2. No sign of it for the 8 series, either. Samsung is doing a much better job. Hell, even Nokia is.

New phones, specially mid-range category, offer nothing more than what OP6 used to have. If you're planning to change to a new mid-range just hold it and save the money for a 2 year old flagship.

Except bulky size and mediocre battery life, I have good memories of my OP6. The camera was good, great performance, feature full OS and quick updates.

The first rule has been used by some OEMs (like HMD) to play dirty, by releasing a device with the previous Android release, just to update it a few weeks after release and say they support the said device lmao. HMD did this with the Nokia 6.2/7.2, Nokia 8 and so many models.
