sa11oum, 19 Jan 2022There's also a Watch SE - that's not smaller, it&... moreThought like that too, but recently watched the presentations of the SE and the press notes, and all of them list size as a key selling factor. The SE 2020 ad has this as the first point it mentions.
The Apple Watch SE is called that because they did not want the same confusion like the budget iPad („well you’ve got an iPad, which one is it“ „the ipad“ „yeah but what iPad“ „just iPad“)
If we stay at that Apple Watch, it‘s offered in two sizes, Standard and big. The iPhone SE could also be offered in two sizes. This would also compare well to the Pro lines where the standard and Max are both a little bit bigger than the standard and plus size iPhone 8. just like it is the case with Apple Watch SE to Series 7.
Anyway, the SE will either keep the small size or lose a big part of its audience, who will either wait until the minis get cheaper, or keep their phone forever (remember all those SE 2016 users who kept it until the mini arrived, and some still keep it because they think the mini is too big)

If they can fit in the same battery inside 13 mini , maybe results in longer battery life ..

sa11oum, 19 Jan 2022The next-next SE will be based on iPhone XR or 11.According to rumours, the XR design will arrive in 2023 or 2024, and this years iPhone will stay the same but then again, rumors also point to the XR like model coming this year. It all seems to be quite unclear at this point

You can check that in battery, then go to „Last 7 days“ it will list the usage and battery percentage used. From my experience, the phone has pretty high standby drain compared to back in the days (maybe because of iOS) but if it does not last let‘s say 3 hours of usage over the day, I think the battery could be damaged and may have to be replaced.

Nothing to do with size.Yeah that too, an entry level iPhone, but since they always keep the size small it's widely assumed that they try to make a small phone. Apple, AFAIK even explained that their earlier users who have smaller models can't move on to bigger sizes, so for them they made a smaller iPhone. So it's exactly not known it seems, the whole point of these iPhones but we'll find out in April what are they upto

It is no worse than any 2016 phone, and since I did not increase my smartphone usage since then, it lasts the entire day for me. It is actually quite a bit better than my previous 4.7 inch iPhone, especially since that one's battery was really degraded. But it is even like 50% better than when that phone was new. You should use an iPhone 6s with 60% battery health, that is abysmal battery life.

Adding 5G will completely obliterate it. That's why since the name was leaked as being SE Plus, I'm becoming more and more convinced this will be a 5.5" phone based on 8 Plus. It's the only thing that makes sense.

Boom, you got a phone that lasts half an hour longer than the SE 2020. Just like the SE 2020 lasts half an hour longer than the iPhone 8 at same battery percentage, from personal experience.

From my observations, the SE line is apple's way if saying goodbye to a design. 1st SE used upto iPhone 5s design for the last time. Second one used iPhone 6 to 8 design for the last time. The new one will likely have iPhone 8 plus design but with a probably newer back design. Another proof of this is that it's called SE +. So the next time we see another SE apart from this upcoming one, it will be notched like the current gen. But we don't really know when apple will introduce a new design so it may probably take a while.

CPU and screen quality makes anything new.
Same with PC.. form factor remained the same over the years, but the core hardware is the one that changes.
There is always a space for that timeless home button iPhone.

If the name is confirmed as SE+, it can't be the 4.7" version. Most likely it would be based on the 8 Plus.
