TV’s these days have bluetooth remotes, AC are on WiFi, and speakers for homes is either bluetooth or on WiFi as well.

Wh... moreany phones that has speaker surely has dac, digital to analog converter, its an electronic component to convert digital signal to analog so human ear can hear the audio. all audio are stored in digital format, so do pictures, in case of pictures, the device requires display adaptor to convert digital signals to analog to be displayed by the screen
so, having limited capabilities of phone speaker while having powerful dac like ess on lg phones, the removal of 3.5 mm plug is totally stupid move, and its all politics behind that
to have usb c dac means that the phone dac will be useless, because the external usb c dac will to the job to convert digital audio to analog, that also means that the user will enjoy poor quality external dac
one of the great external dac that is praised by audio masters is Mark Levinson, and not practical for phones, just to demonstrate how complex is a great dac
another drawback for the phone without 3.5 mm plug is that the user can not hear themusic while charging with cable, wireless charging and fast charging will degrade battery life span.
so, listening wireless audio
- fully dependable to battery on the speaker
both speaker and headphone require battery to power up the dac and amplifier, so when the battery is low, it means stop the music and start charging, up until now, users can not charge the earphone on their ear
- less audio quality
if the audio source are lossless, that means the audio recorded does not suffer signal loss, such flac or wma lossless, using wireless listening, the lossless audio will become loss due to the wireless transmission
- useless phone dac
no matter how powerful phone dac, it only sounding the tiny speaker phone, its useless
and the plus point of wireless audio is no cable
so, those who mostly listen to electronic music, usually, they blindly prefer wireless, because audio quality is not their concern
to those who listen to acoustic, jazz, classic, vocal, choir, opera, they stillneed 3.5 mm plug and state of the art dac and earphone

That said, I'd never get a headphone jack adapter for a USBC or lightning port. It's a recipe for glitchy sound as the connector isn't designed for uninterrupted audio like a direct 3.5mm jack does automatically as it can rotate 360 degrees, automatically keeping the connection surface clean.
