Samsung is another in a long line of mfrs ashamed of the continuing with the punch hole. Why else would they try to hide it on the "Ultra"?

"Ultra" without necessary features like expandable storage and headphone jack, neither of which preclude any other features, is nothing more than laziness and greed.

No buy from me, hanging on to the Note 9, the last decent Note.

S22 Ultra more or less repackaged S21 Ultra phone with new chip + pen + big increase in price, with no camera hardware improvements. I rather new, bigger sensors and bigger battery, than a used up space for pen.

        I'M NOT A FLIGSHIP FAN. .......................
BUT if your pockets got enough weight for flagships then set off to grab one and see the latest teks Sammy got for the public yourself(stop crying and waiting for father-Christmas to tell you the latest oneui story)
Besides the overdragon and XYNOS* variants are available world wide😏.

.......THE BALL IS STILL IN YOUR COURT😡😡

I still don't understand the downgraded ram. S21 ultra had 16GB. Same price. Same camera, just boosted in app and processing. More ram is definitely better than a useless pen.

The rumoured 10 megapixel tele camera would be a downgrade in comparison to the S21 64 megapixel Bayer sensor wide angle camera.
It wouldn't capture more light per time per angle, it wouldn't deliver more pixels per angle and it can't be used for high resolution wide angle photos.

Kev, 26 Jan 2022I hazard against that. When I pixel peep my P30 Pro, I do s... morePlacebo effect.

The low resolution mode you see from those QHD phones is just rendering apps at lower resulution. But they remain stuck at Full HD until you change again.

This is the same useless trick sony has done since Z5 Premium. But difference is the fact xperia goes back to 4K when apps support this resolution.

You are not changing screen resolution. All pixels are still working, the gpu is being stressed same way.

Look the battery endurance between 1 ii x 5ii or 1iii x 5ii. Phone with 4K or QHD that render apps at FHD will never match battery life of native FHD screen , even if you put on same phone.

Sifference between S20+ and S20 FE is huge as well.

notafanboy, 26 Jan 2022Wtf do you need QHD for on a tiny phone screen? You realize... moreI hazard against that. When I pixel peep my P30 Pro, I do start to notice the pixels. The same occurs when I'm watching a World of Tanks replay. However, I didn't notice it when I tried the same on a P40 Pro, which hints to me that the sweet spot imo is somewhere between Full HD+ and QuadHD+, like the P40 Pro's 1200x2640 panel.

Adaptive resolution would probably be the next thing. I'm kinda expecting Samsung to do this sometime soon, as the next battery-saving trick.

So no real quality improvement to the screen (all models should have the same QHD, it's meant to be the same phone but different sizes), no true 10 bit panel or using more forms of HDR like Dolby vision for media consumption (what phones are mostly used for now).

S22 and s22+ are now essentially mid range, average phones that have "Samsung" and "galaxy s" badge slapped on to convince people they're "flagship devices". The fact these 3 phones have the same name is disgusting, ain't the same phones at all and proves Samsung don't care about their customers (the s22 might pass for an A series phone at best).

Camera quality still atleast a year behind leaders Huawei and even Xiaomi who use Samsung sensors like they have been for years now. (those sensor sizes were tiny, p40 pro has larger sensors on all cameras)

Still probably advertising 8k as the most important feature on their devices (most pointless feature I've ever seen on a phone)

Still will have slow/average charge speeds yet brag about it and force you to buy their new chargers or something you've got to waste more money on.

Insanely high prices even compared to price hikers like apple and now Sony (honestly don't know why anyone bothers with those terrible, false advertised Xperia phones).

Anyone that gets these phones on contract or buy outright is crazy and knowing these tech sites, will give these phones "best phone ever" when they shouldn't be in top 5 every year (mates had s20 ultra and it's such an over advertised, overhyped phone it's crazy. Used to love Samsung, only ever shouted their praise but now I wouldn't have one if they gave me a free phone.

But every little bit helps when battery life is concerned. Also, I'm using the Mi 11 Ultra as a reference point. It struggles to reach 6 hours on any battery test I've seen. Either it dies quickly in these tests or it lasts long, but the competition lasts longer. Sources being Technick and TechDroider.

I apologize about the point, however; The Mi 11 Ultra battery life woes are not due to it having too much RAM.

                                  2340 x 1080px?

                                  I'm a little shocked as my ~5 year old s8 does 2960 x 1440px.🤷‍♂️

If UK price for 265gb is around ~£700 the ok I may buy it, but otherwise probably wait few months after release for prices to drop.

Looks absolutely phenomenal. But I have very serious doubts about prices, the maxed out S22 Ultra for €1450? That's €400 lower than the maxed out S10+ just three years ago.

                                        Disappointed specs for s22+ 2340x1080px less pixels than s21+ (2400×1080) and s20+ (1440 x 3200)
Also small screen and screen to body.. and battery only 4500mah down from 4800mah
