Please avoid this at all cost because very shortly all govt's around the world will force you to use digital currency aka fake money and will tell you to be happy. Don't built a digital prison for yourself or your kids or your grandkids.

But then again this could be a marketing strategy by Apple that it will only work with Apple products to keep people locked into that arbitrarily r*tar*ed ecosystem.

Apparently when Apple says they've made a "revolutionary advancement" it only means that in the Apple world they are catching up to what Android has been using for quite some time usually.

I don't understand how this any benefit. No shop is going to buy an iPhone just to use as a payment terminal. The only possible benefits of this is for street sellers but even then, most street sellers aren't going to be comfortable just sticking their phone out to random members of the public for payment, they're going to want to use something more expendable...
