you have to consider the worst customer service, as you've launched the JB in october and we still didn't get it. although, samsung launched it later and everyone had it. your support strategy is very strange, so you have to lose

htc has only one near perfect phone after sensation series, that is one x, all others are less featured no compass, no front cam, low memory.poor battery, 3g on one sim only for dual sim phones etc.

This is like telling the police, that you did the crime, even though they never suspected you.
How on earth can you tell the media, that your lack of success, is due to lack of marketing. That is a failure in any business, but we all know that their marketing is useless compared to Apple and Samsung anyway. Chou needs to take responsibilty for that, because everybody could see that HTC should be more involved in advertising their products, and making people more excited about buying one.

Why HTC failed?....NOT because of marketing or not because of the quality of their product but due to their after sales services and update. If you buy a mid range phone of HTC, unlike Samsung I can guarantee, you are gonna stuck with the same version of the OS unless you root it. HTC wont provide any update, guarantee. Now if the scenario is like, if you brought a high end HTC phone, then u vil get one OS version update, thats all. After that they wont bat an eyelid. But look at Samsung, they have so many devices than HTC, they provide atleast 1 or 2 OS update for mid range and 4 Os update for high end. Just take the case of Samsung Galaxy S2...it started with GB, now getting JB!!!...Now take HTC Desire...started with GB....no update given yet...Then How about HTC Sensation XL or Sensation...after long time they are given ICS now....thats it no more update for them. And that is their problem. Plus one more problem, there is no service center and if there is one, they dont have trained staff there unlike Samsung and Nokia. This is also a factor. I'm from India and this is the scenario in my area!!!!

the only problem I see with HTC is the battery. I use my XE and i am forced to carry my portable power every where I go. DO some thing with the battery. Good CPU + good memory + Poor battery life = Failure.

i had an HTC one X before but Camera was 23 frames p/s
and ingame was wery lag, internal memory card was wery bad on read/write...
and final problem was with wi-fi that after one month i had problem with weak WI-FI i have samsung s3 now but i can say that this is the best smart phone in the world..
HTC have better UI than samsung ... HTC sense is way better than TouchWiz..
i had and i have untill now HTC Dessir HD works good but not like it should (it have better performances than iphone 4)
But from one-X i must say that i will never buy an HTC Smart phone..

No surprises HTC. Looks like another company going down the toilet just like nokia. I thought about getting the one x or even one x plus. i'm not so sure now...still no FM transmitter either!! Listen to your consumers!!!

To sum up,
Marketing is also as bad as its others...
Maybe it is a bit worse...
But I don't really think marketing is the only one you should blame for...

HTC have the best build on the planet, but let down by some models having small internal memory, no external slot, and often a bad camera performance.
When I compare HTC next to Samsung unit side by side, HTC is clearly a better looking and feel device.
But it is let down by the reputation it has created for itself as manufacturer that cuts corners elsewhere on some devices.
No one should buy any Android device with less than 1gb of RAM. Sony also has this problem.

You need to put the Htc butterfly on every carrier on the planet like samsung(S3) and apple(iphone) did with there flagship. If you don't do that you will fail miserably like Nokia!!!!
