Had Moto G4 Play. Was pretty good. Now have Samsung A52. It is another world. Superb phone and not super expensive.

This phone had no limits, used this for flashing Cyanogenmod & kernels, installing theme overlays, and using titanium backup to remove bloatwares.

A 2013 phone that aged really well is the iPhone 5S. Only 1 GB RAM but iOS and WP aren't as RAM hungry as Android is. Nexus 5 also aged well but only 2 GB RAM and battery life is atrocious.

I wouldn't go back using an HTC One M7 because Snapdragon 800 was a big jump from Snapdragon 600. And M7's 2300 mAh for a 1080p display was atrocious. That needed 3000 mAh like the LG G2 to last long.

      Best Qualcomm chips to me
      800
      801
      835
      845
      865
      870

I know people hate the 888 but I love it. Plays GameCube games really well. The 765G is also a decent performer for the price but I still prefer the 800 series. Will never go back using a phone with a Snap400. Was bad enough by early 2015.

Not much better than Doogee, Cubot, Ulephone etc ...

Phones with Unisoc CPU, Tiamna screen, Omnivision cameras etc ... Not even Moto E should be using these ...

Absolutely loved my Moto g 4g, it was my first android phone after finally conceding defeat and admitting windows phone was dead and couldn't believe just how good it was for its price and having Google play store made me realise what I'd been missing on windows phone. Great for its day definitely

Anonymous, 30 Jan 2022Moto X and G are pretty much the exact same size as iPhone ... moreI can confirm. My iPhone 12 mini has mostly the same physical footprint as my Moto G. It doesn't have the same ergonomic hand-feel though.

I love the Moto G so much that I have 2. It's my favourite smartphone of all time.

Last year I threw a new battery in the old MOTO G. It worked for about 6 months as a replacement phone while my regular cell phone was being repaired. Still a solid phone, but now it does not seem so smart.

That was very good along the X which I owned and was small too . Do we really need more ? Yea cos today we can post our very interesting stories on 20 more social useless networks .
And every year we are told to have better camera performance but not chance come on. There s not real innovation just jokes for make us spending money and get more addicted so one day we will agree for the next generation of tec. We love phones cos we don't have better things to do. And now they cost 1000more quids. Many people would spend money for phone instead for house rent...like me!!! Save meeee

Moto G was a great budget phone for its time in 2013 but Snapdragon 400 was an awful chip by the time it was 2015. I owned 3 phones with the Snap400 including a Windows Phone and they all lagged or stuttered. The WP was the least to have it. It didn't help they only had 1 GB RAM when Android needed 2 GB minimum in 2013.

Most of the praises for this comes from nostalgia. We have better phones these days even if some people are saying they're all looking the same and losing features like microSD slot, removable battery, IR blaster, headphone jack, and no charger in the box, etc.

I would never go back using phones with eMMC and only 1 GB RAM. I believe 8 GB RAM should be bare minimum these days. The oldest I'll go is 2017 when Snap835 came out. That was one of the best chips Qualcomm ever made. The 845 was excellent as well. Bare minimum is 845 to use AetherSX2 to play PlayStation 2 games.

I'm getting such nostalgic feelings for the Moto G 1st gen! I'd say it was the best $200 phone I owned, it was very reliable and the 720p display was ahead of most sub-$200 phones. This phone is the reason I have a soft spot for Motorola despite the terrible software update policy.

I had the Moto G 2nd gen as my secondary phone and it was a good device, it lasted for year but the next one I bought, the Moto G6 Play was terrible mostly from the software side, I guess the OS was poorly made, the device was lagging all the time!

2013 is underrated as fuck when it comes to the impact of smartphones - Prior to that, smartphones in the budget range were mostly dogshit and didn't even have a working FM radio to compensate for it's shittiness for the budget phones mainly in North America - Moto G was a OG phone, a killer of a budget phone

My first android phone. And best phone money can buy till now.

Cheap to buy, performed well, colourful, compact and fitted in your pocket. If only we could have a phone like this now. Everything nowadays is massive sized and lack character.
