Apple fixed it in couple of months , android was fix after around 18 months since the first appearance

AnonD-1034750, 30 Jan 2022LMFAO..did you even read your nonsensical reply? So all and... moreThe apps do run at 120hz, all the time. But you won't see the extra frames if the game is locked to 30-60fps. Can't unlock frames for those since there's no settings inside of the game. But other apps like GSMArena's, run at 120hz. Since it is not being locked to a framerate by the app itself.

        Now you understand?

120hz kills the battery. They locked refresh rate at 60hz for the initial reviews so the battery life numbers would look outstanding. Users should expect much poorer battery life now.

They should rather have support and offer 120W chargers and charging capabilities right now its like a bad joke waiting weeks to charge a battery from flat to half.

Anonymous, 30 Jan 2022Do all android apps support 120hz ?They do, i can open any app and they all play it at 120hz. Exepct for games that lock the framerate to 30 or 60fps.

This is further proof that 120 Hz isn't as useful on smartphones as Linus, MKBHD etc. want us to think if they didn't even notice that their apps weren't running at 120 Hz. It's a waste of battery power to go beyond 60 Hz. The GPU has to work twice as hard, the display consumes more power.

Variable Refresh Rate is useful anytime phone can't render 60fps (such as in games) and should be focused on more.

Wait, it wasn't a thing before?????????
