Benchmark scores don't tell everything. I care more about battery usage. I still can't believe the S21 Ultra's battery endurance rating despite having a QHD+ 120Hz screen. I do think that it might have something to do with the chipset's battery optimization algorithm.

Always go for Snapdragon. No matter what. Unless it has serious heating issues and you are heavy gamer.

Samsung on galaxy s22u with snapdragon version 8gen1, limited performance so that the version with Exynos did not get too far behind in performance tests 🤣

BrianCoriour, 04 Feb 2022I will wait for comparisons on what gives what on every dif... moreI don't know about Qualcomm, but Samsung is gonna make as much profit from over selling MediaTek 9000 as I believe they are paying a lot to Samsung for the Cortex X2 core. Qualcomm might be partner or not but Samsung is definitely a partner of Cortex custom core program as only Samsung was mentioned officially on ARM website.

So
1. they underclocked 8gen1 to match e2200 what it seems like.
2. They did'nt put GPU because 8gen1 gpu is on totally new architecture & is much faster than AMD in e2200
3. The people who are saying they are hyped for ray tracing....get ready to be disappointed.

Samsung is bragging about ray tracing, but let's see how the Xclipse 920 performs without fancy ray tracing first.

BrianCoriour, 04 Feb 2022Ive compared dimensity 9000 to these 2 and its official ima... more500 more in single or multi core?
Anyway, we'll see how the Dimensity 9000 performs on real devices when it is available, they are sure taking their sweet time after announcing their ARMv9 chip with Cortex-X2, first.
Last time, I saw D9000 scoring over 4000 in multi core score it was using some older GB version, possibly to mislead people but whatever.

BrianCoriour, 04 Feb 2022Ima get which ever cpu and gpu is best. That's one way to choose but not the only way. Price is another consideration, so is software support.

Compare their temperatures and throttling as well. That will reveal a lot.

LOL, 04 Feb 2022Slight correction: Mediatek is Taiwanese, same as TSMC, not... moreactually factually inaccurate, yes taiwanese owned and run in taiwan, but are 50% ownership local venture in mainland china, you have understand tw and cn relationship, their is a trade and production link (similar to foxconn which is taiwanese run company), in fact mediatek has factories in both mainland and taiwan, their mainland china factory is based in shenzhen, hefei, chengdu and wuhan.
there is a specific reason why, any foreign company with no 50% local venture is more expensive in china due to local import taxes (20%) on foreign owned companie's products in china, hence why apple is more expensive in China than Hong Kong as well as companies such as dengfeng honda or vw china is cheaper than foreign cars

Phone apps sort of stagnated for some years now when it comes to processing needs. So few percent difference is practically identical for all intends and purposes. At this point battery performance is more important (and even that, not that much because the screen's power needs dwarfs anything else's anyhow).
IMO you performance and support is where it's at. It's the last place where every percent difference matters, and given/how Geekbench don't measure for that we won't know. In that sense antutu is a bit better for comparison purposes (it overvalues GPUs performance in its composite score), however pure game performance is literally the only thing we should be looking at these days. It's the only place where different SoCs (still) produce material difference. In all (of) the rest they are practically identical in day-to-day use.
So, yeah, can't wait for pure gaming tests so that to know which variant is better...

Samsung ofcourse can limit snapdragons performance, their snapdragon models usually score lower than chinese devices with same chip

what is the use of creating two chips if both created by Samsung and heats like crazy .qualcomm will loose big by switching to Samsung from tsmc .
