The design is unique and pleasing. Miss the zoom lenses that optically 5x. I have find X3 Pro and the camera does a very good job but the exposure sometimes little bit off but only at specific condition, I hope this year the find X5 could improve it's camera exposure like my previous pixel phone. Pixel phone have magically perfect exposure (HDR) process, it has smart decision which area at the photo need to be lighten and other area need to be darken.

3 of my previous android phones all had curved screens which I did not want , but I wanted the phones so put up with this annoying feature.
After my last one I vowed I wouldn’t have another , so now I’m an iPhone boy.
Unfortunately because Samsung makes nice quality displays , many smart phone makers I suspect just buy what Samsung has because Sammy makes so many of them and they are probably convenient and cheap.
So it’s hard to see this annoying trend on android phones disappearing any time soon.

Auto HDR literally means whether HDR processing takes place or not is fully determined by the camera software alone, with no possible user intervention. Both Xperia 1 III and Pro I do that in Basic mode. In fact most companies follow this approach when it comes to HDR processing, whereas Apple and Google are the only ones that perform the always-on HDR.
The same goes with sharpening. I have already presented you how much sharpening Pro I applies in its jpeg processing in comparison to its raw just a few weeks ago, only to get ignored by you, ultimately. Stop treating Xperia as a holy grail of smartphone camera or something when it has a couple of glaring flaws that are hard to ignore.

They do not have auto HDR like other, nor apply tons of sharpening to improve texture and make people thing it is all details. 2022 and people still think only auto HDR is correct photography. LOL !!!
People there in charge are same people in charge of the 📷.
They know what they are doing and know more than tech sites and youtubers .

Look at how non-BBK are using now 766 (Xiaomi, Huawei Nova, Honor, S22/22+). That was previously just for Oppo/OP was well.

Same as Apple & Sony themselves ... They using exclusive sensors for their phones.. the problem with Sony is not the sensors, it their images processing.. albeit, they're improving over the years..

My thoughts on cameras?
If a Brand like Oppo uses a camera hardware from a well known brand like Sony, Zeiss, Leica, Hasselblad etc etc...it's because they already acquired the certificate of these. In other word, they're already allowed to use it for their device/s. If we noticed, most Asian Mobile Manufacturers are sharing patents for almost their hardwares or even softwares..Samsung is very kind on doing these, hence Flip and Folding phones are scattering everywhere! Arguing? Ask GSMRArena :D
