Samsung will only update the Galaxy A51 twice a year from now on

That's really odd, as the phone isn't that old.

I just figured something out....why is samsung competing with qualcom as to who has a better chip ? Yet they are the ones giving them the phones to put those chips in.

Its literaly like giving your gf to your friend and competing with him as to who can pleasure her better while he has a 8 inch and you have a 1 inch soooo like why give her in the first place and then cry about it ????????

      This article is disingenuous.

The A51 and A51 5G do not use the same chipset. Samsung has to differentiate its products. Both get the same length of support, but the model with a better chipset (980 on 8nm vs 9611 on 10nm) get more frequent security updates. That seems reasonable.

Lastly, Samsung will reportedly increase the support for flagships to 4 OS upgrades and 5 years of security updates. Curiously, GSMArena hasn't reported that.

Infact every device (except S series and Enterprise models) got placed in bi-annual update schedule right after 2 years of launch, next could be A71,
Somehow A40 is the oldest there hanging in quarterly schedule.

Scamsung is lazy now, this phone should be at a $150 discount.

This is one of the reason why iphone is very expensive.
Delivering updates need a lot of money.
But.. i dont care about updates, so i stick to Android.

Yes i knew it, "scamsung" showing true colors ..i doubt if it will even get proper android update upto android13
