13 February 2022
Are you happy to see the Note return - so happy that you may buy an S22 Ultra? Or do the two smaller models look better?

So so disappointed with this S22 Ultra, it just seems to be error prone on far to many things with the latest being the NFC. I use the NFC on mobiles to read my CGM sensor and I have NEVER had any issues with any phone in the past till I got this "all singing all dancing" S22 Ultra. What a mistake I have made at a huge cost, this phone is awful with NFC, sometimes it works but more often than not it refuses to read the sensor. This phone has to go along with any other Samsung product I own - I've simply had enough of their flawed expensive products, each and every Samsung product has major flaws and the huge prices make this company not trustworthy.

LOL, 20 Feb 20221440p will drain the battery much faster, especially since ... moreHL's been enjoying WQHD+ for 7 years! & they don't want to downgrade to FHD+.
Watching movies uses low VRR so low battery discharge.

It's not HL's fault they didn't fit a LTPO 2 panel in the S22+, so now HL's being funneled into buying the Ultra to get WQHD+.

But HL's argument is that we can switch between HD+ FHD+ or WQHD+ without affecting other users, as can the Ultra. but you can't on the S21/+ or S22/+.

FWIW my friend was dissapointed with their S21+ FHD+ compared to my Note9 FHD+ same content side by side, not even comparing, just obviously apparent, see for yourself.

The grievance here & in general that users don't want downgrades in Flagships❗

Specs don't mean anything. 1080p at that display size is more than enough sharpness for most people.

          FAO: Exynos region (Europe).

I saw a battery stress test on YouTube from Mrwhosetheboss.
(Personal use test results may vary)

Samsung S22 Ultra vs S21 / iPhone 13 Pro Max / Pixel 6 Pro / Xiaomi 12 Pro Battery Life Drain Test!:
          https://youtu.be/Yok_WszgNmA

Arun's also done an S22U camera test (best to see all trusted reviewers before buying).

I've seen lots of tests from what I consider trusted sources (with natural personal preference biases) but personally I wouldn't buy a smartphone without seeing/ reading the GSMArena tests & reviews.

I would start by contacting support from Microsoft, Samsung, Google/ Android.
I'm certain your issue can & will be resolved, good luck.

I love new design and phone UX looks great however big issue for me:
                1. i don't want to pay for and manage two cloud services google and microsoft.
                2. I use Office 365 business account for personal use because i have linked to my partner accounts and samsung does not allow you to use office 365 business for photos or notes.
                3. Google messages as default when i tested it would lose some of my text messages.
                4. As a software developer i use a mac and no Samsung notes. i dislike one note it's hard to use.

Also the 3.5mm jack has better audio quality than BT.
I like the convenience of using BT speakers, but won't be forced into BT only. Best of both worlds is best.

Samsung's Harmon/ Kardon & AKG could sonically outshine all competition if their experience was being utilized bringing us closer to having the capabilities of dedicated hi-res Portable Music Players.

I was always interested in LG but I had no confidence in their support.

I would wait for the reviews before deciding.

I would need to know any differences between the Exynos 2200 versus Q. Snapdragon 8Gen1 chipsets, efficiencies & performance capabilities incl. Image Signal Processing & Sony versus Tetracell, there's probably not much difference in the last couple of years, but in the past it's been like 2 different phones with an inferior Exynos.

You'd need to check if the S22 battery is good to last >24hrs now & still likely to achieve in 3 years time.
Personally I'd prefer a ~1mm thicker device to accomodate a 4,000mAh battery & MicroSD slot & 3.5mm jack, but some think less is more & want it waffer thin.

Each to their own, but if it fails 1 of my minimum thresholds I cannot buy or recommend it.

The more these devices lost their features, the more I lost interest, however I like the cameras on the S (Note) 22 Ultra but with the continual reduction of features, people could resent the S pen taking up space?
Regardless, this is a good opportunity to try it.

But seeing as your here maybe you can also answer why the iPhone 'Pro' still can't multi task? is it because it only has 6gb Ram?
Why can't it split screen, or even Always On Display haven't they learnt to copy any of these yet?

I almost feel sorry for iPhone 🤣
Just as it looks like it's catching up, Android innovates & optimizers again leaving iPhone in the past.

Worst battery life than S21 Ultra and iPhone 13 Pro Max. iPhone 13 Pro Max is much faster than any phones with its CPU and GPU. The iPhone also costs less on top of that. It's over. These overpriced Android phones cannot compete.

My point is.. for much less money we used to get QHD.. but now we get FHD.. if you are fine with FHD and more battery savings.. you had the option to go down.. but now we don’t have the option to go up in S22.. If you are good with FHD.. I am not stopping you to go for it.. I just wanted QHD in s22 plus, because I don’t use spen, don’t need extraordinary cameras.. and got bored with curved displays.. so I wish samsung used qhd in s22 plus .. but now that they didn’t I am forced to go with s22 Ultra.. This is what samsung wants.. if there is no point in QHD, then why QHD in S22U?
