It is funny how both Android and ios are heavily copying Windows Mobile.

If android 13 destroy just as much as 12 did, then no thanks! Upgraded from 11 to 12, and that ruined the ram management and system stability. Stole 4gb storage to give fake ram boost.!

google has recruited new developers for android 12 wich seem cartoonish and childish in their mind (i bet their are 100% chinese)

I love how Android12 isn't even out properly at all and is still in early beta stages, yet Android13 comes piling out on top of it. This is the sign of a company that is stressed and rushing releases to please users which never has a good ending.

OwnFix3, 11 Feb 2022There's difference between developers working on Andro... moredo you know that android is not owned by google only ??? there are many oem on the board ... yes for that vanilla in pixel devices !!!

            you are wrong

Khamis1990, 11 Feb 2022Help me understand, how long does google release each androi... moreThis is a first developer preview, which they usually do a few months before the final stable version - Google usually releases a full stable major version of Android about once every year, with occasional security and .1 updates spread throughout the year between versions.

Android 13 (Tiramisu) will likely have a full stable release in either August or September since...

Android 12 (Snow Cone) released in October 2021.
Android 11 (Red Velvet Cake) released in September 2020.
Android 10 (Queen Cake / Q) released in September 2019.
              Android 9 (Pie / P) released in August 2018.
              Android 8 (Oreo / O / Oatmeal Cookie) released in August 2017...

IMHO, these new Android OS upgrades are no longer as exciting to anticipate as before in the pre-Android 8 Oreo times. Having used an Android 8 Redmi phone from 2018 and comparing it to my sibling's S20+ with OneUI 4 and Android 12, I honestly don't feel like I'm missing out something important that would force me to upgrade on the aspect of software, except maybe security updates.
Many of the new features that newer Android versions bring are not anything that cannot be added via a small OS update. Heck, I could even get system-wide dark mode from third-party apps to some extent. In short, Android OS has been more than complete enough for any regular phone user since Android 8, so I think we should give more importance to security updates instead. If only some apps in the Play Store are not requiring newer versions of Android OS to work, then I can say that new Android versions are nothing surprising and important anymore.

It looks like they are focusing more on privacy and configurablity.

Those releases should be happening bi annually at the least, with security patches in between. The annual release of a new android , so deep into the mobile revolution, causes more issues than it solves. There is hardly new things to add in a year, anymore, those OSes are mature, all they (those frequent releases) cause are incompatibilities and a frantic run from OEM to "catch up" (causing even more incompatibilities/bugs).

A fast release schedule on mobile OSes made sense 10 years ago when the space was young and missing crucial features. At this point it is a pain in the a$$. Better we get robust releases that actually add enough features, biannually (or maybe even more rarely), than this mess.

I wonder who is (trully) happy that we get a new release (that barely adds things of note) each and every year. Overworking the servers for no reason at all, me thinks...

AnonymousCRL, 11 Feb 2022Android 12 is stable, but not in Pixel devices ironically. Not that stable if you frequent the individual forums , Samsung devices had a tough time in some locations

Sounds like it fixes maybe 20% of what was broken in Android 11 and 12. File permissions and customization remain so broken that you essentially have a buggy iPhone that spies on you constantly. Add 3rd party ROM support to the list of mandatory features in my next phone.

WhySooSerious, 11 Feb 2022I honestly love androids but you gotta give this one to iOS... moreAndroid already fully featured and newer versions just degrade or remove some earlier features, making it look like a worse IOS wannabee.
Your enjoyment of android experience is limited by effort you put in mental gymnastics involving tech stuff.

Imagine UI/UX designers at Google working overtime for the latest version of Android, but the cute OEMs putting their sad skins on top of the mobile OS.

Help me understand, how long does google release each android???Because i think they are just released the android 12 on the other day.

I honestly love androids but you gotta give this one to iOS. All iPhones get the update same day it releases but on droids nore thn 90% don't have Android 12 while 13 is here for pixels.
