mbl, 13 Feb 2022I am bereft!!!! I was so hoping this new 5G BlackBerry woul... moreI used to be a die-hard physical keyboarder. From the Windows Mobile imate Ultimate 8502 that I bought in 2009, transitioning to Android with the HTC Desire Z in 2011, and then the Samsung Captivate Glide in 2012.
In 2014 I felt forced to buy a full-touch phone. It took me a full two years to get comfortable with typing on virtual buttons. I can now do it quickly and without looking, but it was a long process to get there.

Touch only phones have always been complete garbage IMO. I was begrudingly forced away from my third QWERTY Nokia onto an HTC device prior to the release of the Q10 BB, replacing that with each successor, and currently use both KeyOne and Key2 for the physical key press. If this really is the end of BB branded phones, I'll jump onboard whatever 5G QWERTY android phone rises from its ashes... though 2 years in limbo, pandemic or not is testing the friendship almost as much as the BB10 OS did

As a more than 15 years BlackBerry user, I feel like a dirty handkerchief being dropped in the bin...respectless both from BlackBerry and OnwardMobility keeping us on a leash and no communication at all !!!!

Well a handheld device with the Blackberry name and logo on it would have been great. But as far as I am concerned a handheld device with a physical keyboard, up to date Android and reliable security as my old blackberry devices would still suit me fine. So if Onward Mobility, Acme or someone else comes with such a device then I am interested. The company that put 600 millions for BB patents would surely do something worthwhile with that.

I’m disappointed too. I’ve been waiting, like everyone else, for the 5G BlackBerry release for more than a year!
I can imagine the story saying it’s dead is probably true. But we haven’t heard anything from OnwardMobility or BlackBerry. I would think one of them would comment -- and, so far, they haven’t.

I am bereft!!!! I was so hoping this new 5G BlackBerry would come to fruition. Alas it is not to be. I have already ordered a Samsung S22 Ultra. I shall miss my beloved physical keyboard. It really is too bad Onward Mobility was too chicken to tell all BlackBerry users the truth. Now I have to try and type quickly and accurately on a virtual keyboard. THAT SUCKS!!!!!

The benefit of BB10 OS is the hyper security which is the forerunner Operating System in driverless cars
if you don't have to worry month in month out on creating and releasing l
Patches you are ahead of the game.
Patents are just that procedure after Imo , a Blackberry using Android will still have security issues
The two OS with the weakest security survive

I've been waiting, hoping and very excited about the new 5G Blackberry!! I've had one since they were big and all in between. The Passport was my favorite but I purchased the Key2 4G and have enjoyed it but miss the old Blackberry. Now ATT will turn off my access on the 22nd and I'm lost without my Blackberry!! I've never liked iPhones and I'm not sure about Samsung so what is a girl going to do?? So sad it's coming to an end.

Maybe time for Unihertz to step in and take the name? They already make the brilliant Titan, the closest new phone to a classic BB.

WhyGoogle, 12 Feb 2022Lmao! Yet iphones sales are higher than folds and year over... moreIts not an answer 😁
I guees igs true with the fold, even i really dont care, its only a phone andd a brand right.
I really better like to buy a car, a phone etc because of my needs and because i like it. Bjt i would never buy some stuff, only because it sells more then others.... Strange logic you have 👌🏻 bjt if you like that, its okay to 🙂

Anonymous, 12 Feb 2022None sees products from Samsung as fancy.
Samsung has alw... moreYa and why? Cant be because of the price, in my country Shamesong cost more then Apple? Not fair for the poor people.
And meanwhile the see a poor video on their trashy phone 👀,.
Yesterday a poor Shamesong owner sold me the video, just to have money to get a new charger.

Very dissapointing, I've been hanging on to my BlackBerry Key2 which is failing in so many ways, not least it's very outdated Android Operating system...hoping the Onward Mobility would deliver on their promise.
I should have known better, the world has moved on, and it looks like I will have to as well. I'm going to miss the physical keyboard like crazy. I can't type with any accuracy or speed on my wife's Samsung phone with virtual keyboard, it drives me nuts!
But hey ho, at least people won't look at me like I'm an alien when they see I'm using a Blackberry. It really has become the equivalent of the fax machine or the music cassette tape! Bye bye Blackberry, thanks for the good times, here I come 21st century.
